The warmth of Des and Sinead’s hospitality makes this small hotel an absolute winner. Everything they do is done with love and care and expect a chivalrous welcome from Timmy the dog too. Des cooks delicious dishes in the evening and Sinead bakes light scones, mouthwatering cakes and makes the best scrambled eggs at breakfast I have ever tasted. Plenty of fresh fruit for breakfast too! Very clean everywhere and such a comfy bed. They have just taken this hotel over so are full of enthusiasm for the changes they want to make. They have the eye and the touch to make this a very special place indeed. We have promised to return soon to see the results.

We had a wonderful 3 nights here ! Nothing was too much for Des and Sinead. Their culinary skills were superb, the bed and room very comfortable. We came to visit the RSPB reserve of Insh Marshes - only just over a mile away - and Glen Feshie, well known in rewilding circles. The Osprey Hotel was the perfect base. I can't recommend it highly enough !

What can I say, I attended Kingussie for the first time in my life last week after traveling all day up from London for work related contract. Now lets not forget we are in Covid lockdown but it was for construction work related purposes as I am a surveyor. It was just by pure chance that I managed to find this hotel as most places where not accepting anyone. I called and spoke to the proprietor Des, and straight away I felt like I new him very friendly and accommodating. On my arrival it was raining and as soon as I approached the hotel Des was there to meet me. Brought me in to his beautiful hotel and all I can say is both he and Sinead made me feel so welcome. Any one who is reads this will think he has either paid me to write this or I am linked to him in some way, I am not and I felt so compelled to write this, as I was a bit dubious when I walked in as I was the only person staying there due to the pandemic. How do I convey that any uncertainty that I had was quickly diminished when a beautiful three course home cooked meal was put in front of me and all I can say I died and went to heaven. I was also privileged to have the company of both Des and Sinead for the evening who made me feel like part of the family. It was so good I stayed another night and both my wife and I have spoken to them on the phone since my departure and the both of us will be returning shortly to spend a lovely time with these lovely heart warming people. There are some building works going on but all I can say is if you want to experience a true Scottish and Irish hospitality and a fantastic bed and really feel at home with out of this world home cooked food this is the place to go. Wonderful time wonderful people beautiful scenery what a place to stay. With two fantastic dogs who are the real bosses.

I have stayed at The Osprey Hotel a few times due to working in the area. The hotel sits centrally in the village, is only about a 2 minute walk from the train station and opposite the community gardens. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The different bedrooms I have slept in have always been very clean and comfortable. The food is delicious and generous portions. I believe the hotel is dog friendly but best to check.
