Stayed 2 nights in the Saka Manor & Spa hotel double room. Ended up not in the manor house, but in the SPA hotel building. The rooms were located under the roof on the second floor. During the Summers it's impossible to have a good night sleep there as the rooms do not have air conditioner and the room windows were very small and did not air the room enough. The bathroom in the room was also very small. The breakfast that was advertised on Booking.com (where I made the booking) as "very good" turned out to be "very average" breakfast. It had everything you needed, but it did not offer anything extra. Scrambled eggs were swimming in it's own liquid and filtered coffee was offered. The staff in the hotel did as much as they had to, but did not offer anything extra in terms of up selling the SPA treatments nor the hotels own restaurant.

I was attracted by the photos of the historic manor and that's why I chose it as an accomodation for one night. We stayed however at the hotel building, not the manor itself - which was a bit disappointing. But - there was a silver lining to the situation - the pool and sauna were located in the same building, and the hotel contacted me in advance to book the access to both (90 minutes are included in the price of the room). When I saw them (especially the Finnish sauna), I realised why it was necessary to book the time - they are really small. The room was actually also not the biggest - and there was even no kettle or tea/ coffee in it. As the room was on the first floor - under the roof, it was a bit stuffy. The hotel grounds are really vast and one can go through a little gorge to the beach or admire the sea from the cliff. Good wifi, average breakfast.

It is a nice place if you love nature and want to get away. For some, it may get a little bit boring. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Restaurant had also nice food. Pool and sauna was closed 10PM which seems a little too early. Staff was nice.

The first impression is good by the look of the hotel. The hotel doesnt have any lift to go to the upper floor, you have to carry your bags, no hot water. When you go for breakfast, items are kept on the buffet, but absolutely no one to serve. I wanted a late check out at 12 noon instead of 11 am but there was no one at the reception. At 12 noon, i went to check out, but there was no one, so i decided to go down to the restaurant to see if anyone was there. There was an young lady, i handed over the key, she asked me this question in a stern voice/ tone, "dont you know that you should have vacated your room at 11 am ?" If you are looking for something to drink or eat at the restaurant on Sunday, it is closed for guests. I will never go to this hotel again.

We stayed in this hotel in August for one night. Unfortunately, the room was disappointing. I imagined that the rooms are like old manor rooms, but to be honest, it just look like outdated. The spa is very small and you have to book your visiting time in advance, but otherwise nice. We had “romantic package” which included “romantic” dinner, but this experience made me rather sad. The restaurant was very small and in the middle of the restaurant was a company event with a long table and lots of noisy guests. We were seated in the corner of the room together with other “romantic” packages quests. It was very disappointing that they didn’t reserve some other room for the company event or for all other visitors. I've never eaten so fast to finish the dinner and leave. One great thing - the location is beautiful. Unfortunately, I would not return.

Saka Manor is a nice, small getaway in NE Estonia and we stayed there for couple of nights. The location is of course fantastic - on the high cliffs and inside an old park. The room was cozy, maybe a bit outdated, but really nothing to complain about. It was dead quiet at night and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was plenty and tasty, unfortunately we had no time to visit the spa. If we are in the area next time, Saka will be our choice again as it's the best lodging in the vicinity of Kohtla-Järve.

We did a tour of the large manors in eastern Estonia - formerly occupied by German noblemen until the first Estonian independence in 1918. Saka is wonderfully restored but our room was small and shockingly warm (there is no aircon). It had a tiny window portal and a skylight. It had only one working English language TV channel (France 24). The restaurant served great food though but was a bit soulless and empty while we were there. There are great walks and a Spa on the grounds as well as a great walkway down to the Baltic beach, which is too rocky and too cold for swimming i fear. The pool was also unavailable to us that evening.
