My wife and I stayed 4 nights in May. This was our second visit and it remains our favorite resort. Not the easiest to find in heavy rain which magically cleared on arrival so the rest of the day was sunny and warm. Our visit coincided with a Domperignon 4 course dinner set up on a long elegant banquet table....

Wonderful service, amazing food, lovely facility and grounds. And the sunrises are incredible! This property is absolutely special. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house. It could have been very romantic if I had not been alone, but they made sure I did not feel lonely. Highly recommend!

Having taken short breaks to Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown for the last couple of years running, it was time to mix it up and head north to the Bay of Islands and The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, the first of the Robertson properties. The reviews I wrote for Matakauri could equally apply to The Lodge. The only reason it gets...

Gorgeous weather upon arrival, which was lucky because we were able to grab a golf cart and do a tour around the golf course, which borders some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere. We took a walk down to Pink Shell Beach where we found oodles of lovely shells and a safe, sheltered and extremely private swimming spot. Even when...

We spent the last few days of a month-long honeymoon at Kauri Cliffs, and I'm so glad we did! The resort is absolutely amazing and I dream of going back again. The food was absolutely delicious, staff was friendly and helpful, and the property was to die for! The resort itself is on a working farm, and the area surrounding...

A fabulous place to take a loved one and share a special treat or just a group of friends for a lovely relaxing afternoon. We started with a Pelorus Bay pink bubbles sitting...

My daughter and I had a much needed 21/2 day get-away at The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs and it was by far the best vacation we have ever had. The setting is absolutely beautiful with stunning vistas, gorgeous private beaches, breathtaking views with spectacular sunrises- so peaceful and fun. From the personal greeting when we arrived by the manager to...

After a long excursion across the ocean, the warm greeting by the staff helped us to feel at home straight away. The landscape is breathtaking - in every direction. Our room was charming, perfectly appointed and all windows overlooking the open view over the golf course to the ocean. The staff are well trained, and see to every request. The...

This is an absolutely spectacular lodge. The views are breathtaking. What a feeling to wake up in the morning to sunrise over the sea. Absolutely unbeatable scenery. The guides the hotel organized were excellent - sailing, fishing, horse riding and atvs were all excellent. The staff is very friendly and tries very hard to make sure every need is accommodated....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the far north of New Zealand lies an unspoiled peninsula. High cliffs and a few ranches on this welcoming island which won the hearts of Julian and Josie Robertson. After designing a magnificent 18-hole golf course, the couple created a splendid colonial residence with outlying cottages. Space is the real luxury, the suite an apartment, the bathroom a spa.
