Friendly welcome on arrival. Love having a sea view. Breakfast good value for money. Always enjoy staying here. The Seaview rooms are spacious, clean and modern. It's on the seafront which offers access to nearby promenade. There is a good restaurant on site again GVM.

Arrived early and was able to get into my room which was a great start. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and en suite with a brilliant breakfast included for £35. Not luxury but all you could ask for the price. Had a bit of a battle to lock the door when I went out but no...

Booked at short notice and managed to obtain last room. The Hotel appears to have been recently refurbished as the decor and carpets etc appear very new and in excellent condition. The Hotel also contains Noir drinks bar and has an excellent Italian Restaurant next door. Stayed in this area a number of times recently in other hotels in this...

Lovely rooms overlooking the sea. Plenty of room and even had an extra single bed that we named the argument bed! Useful for when one snores too much 😂. Fab fluffy towels and toiletries too. We received a friendly welcome from reception and the breakfasts had everything and more. Adjoining restaurant was nice and cosy. Can recommend the Zinfandel wine...

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was of a high standard. Needs a communal room where you can sit and relax and speak to other guests, it is the bar or your room which makes it like a b&b. If you are a Coeliac avoid the in house restaurant, we checked in the afternoon if they catered for Coeliac's and...

Lovely small hotel over looking the promenade at Whitley Bay. The hotel was very reasonably priced as well as being clean & tidy. All the staff we came in contact with were helpful & friendly. We had a room (No25) overlooking the promenade shoreline which was great although some of the other rooms did not have such a pleasant outlook....

Arrived at the hotel and all six parking spaces were full. I thought I had reserved one with my booking and had no info to the contrary. Parking in a street away is not satisfactory when your car carries your business. The room was upstairs through four firedoors through which to lug my fokders and case and the whole landing...

I regularly stay at The Royal on business and look forward to visiting everytime. Staff are without exception friendly and cultivate a lovely atmosphere - reception is 24 hours, and welcoming (particularly when arriving in the rainy Northeast in the dead of night). Breakfast buffet is perhaps a little more basic than more expensive hotels - but does the job...
