The food can be hit and miss here. But there is a good menu and always plenty of room. The barmaid is a bit hasty with the beer at times. Free wi fi. Only a couple of ales on draught, Okells plus one or to guest ales.

Stopped for lunch as it is near Castle Rushen. Thought food choice, wine and real ale were quite good - I had fish sandwich and a couple of pints of Okell's 1907. Service seemed reasonable (always room for improvement) and the bar areas were better / brighter than some dark bars in other pubs. I would go there again.

Me and my partner visited Castletown - we were on an Alfa coach trip staining at the hydro hotel. This was one of the trip days. We called at the George hotel for some lunch - we had a ploughmans lunch. Big plate of salad different cheeses - warm rolls - I was expecting normal pickle but it was sliced...

Just don’t that’s all!! You never get a second chance to make a first impression well the George failed in every area. Shabby and old unwelcoming and that was just the bar. Making my way upstairs it was nothing short of dire in décor cleanliness and furnishings then I opened the door to room 7 – OMG!! I think indescribable...

Stayed here on our walk around the Isle of Man. It was booked for us by the tour operator organising our trip. The description in our itinerary said, "newly refurbished". Unfortunately it did not go on to say, newly refurbished in 1963! It has been a very long time since this hotel has been refurbished! The general appearance is tired...

Stopped off for lunch. I had crab risotto and hubby had chilli con carne. My crab risotto was revolting to say the least and where was the crab I'd like to know. The only way I could describe it was a cross between rice pudding and porridge. My husbands chilli was nothing special and we both felt cry disappointed. The...

Stopped off here for lunch, friendly staff and really nice food, Cajun burger was excellent and chilli jacket was great. You can even park outside for free with a parking disc for 2 hrs! Good central location for a browse round the shops and cafes. Give it a go.

A lovely friendly hotel with wonderful staff. Great room, excellent food we would certainly recommend. Good choice for breakfast and we had a lovely evening meal one night while staying. Hotel is right in the middle of the town and is within easy walking distance to shops and harbour.

Arrived to find room allocated was too small to accommodate the extra bed we needed. Staff and duty manager Jonny, were brilliant. Gave us a coffee on the house and sorted out us moving to larger room. Room 1 was perfectly adequate for a couple, outlook was over side alley. Re-allocated to room 6.. Staff, food and location was perfect,...
