Everyone's food was terrible for our table of 6. Food used to be fairly good, but since H&B have standardised their menu across all pubs, it was awful. Used to do a very mean chicken burger, but this time it was bland, unseasoned and dry. Chips were anemic and came with no side salad etc. Heron & Brearley once again...

Visited after arriving at airport one lunchtime, entering from car park was like walking back in time, dingy faded coverings to floors and walls, stairs to upper floors marked residents only were grim. The bar experience was not much better bored bar staff moaning about their life in general. One drink and away, on the positive side had previously considered...

We were there for one night and never again, a member of staff took us to a room which was supposed to be ours only to find someone in it, he then tried another one and again someone was in it, we got a room on the 3rd attempt, we wanted some food, we were told there was none, the...

More like an old fashioned boarding house, very out-dated. Stairway and landing carpet was almost black where its been walked on, would not cost a fortune to hire a carpet cleaner! We had our evening meal there, will not comment on food because wish we had not bothered!!!

Visited in October. Beer was excellent. Staff very friendly and no complaints there. Liked the pub as have been here many times before. The food, however, was poor. Had Sunday lunch which was chicken. The roast potatoes seemed to be frozen ones and where not really cooked long enough. Chicken breasts, whilst quite a lot, where something like I would...

Just popped in for a quick bite to eat. Was busy on the day. Staff nice food quick and food was good for what I paid. Over all good experience and will call again. If in Castletown it's one of the best lunch options available .

We recently stayed at Castletown for a short break. We had two meals one at lunchtime and an Evening meal. Both were really good. The Hotel serves Okells Ales along with a good selection of Lager or other drinks We felt that he food was very good value and nicely served. As well as a good choice. Will return next...

We have been in Castletown for a wedding weekend and visited here Friday, Saturday and Sunday for drinks. Staff friendly and accommodating but could do with a facelift as a little worn and tired, such a shame as central location

The Hotel is a bit tired and could do with a refurbishment but the manager Paul and his staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful we had a lovely week and would stay here again. The room was basic but spacious and clean we had booked a double but it had been left as a twin this was no problem...

On a good day, things are fine. But you chance on finding a good day. Staffing seems to be an issue at times, since manager left and retired to Spain some months ago, lacks a firm hand of late. Not value for money food, little under £10 and who pays over a fiver for a baked potato? Quality/service also highly...
