Nice hotel handy for public transport and ferries. Also handy for Ceroc class in the Masonic Centre every Monday night. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. Right next to the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre. Midway between Derby Castle for Manx Electric Railway and IOM Steam Railway station. Within walking distance of both. Glencrutchery Road with its...

As one of a party of four on a 4 day stay we were very satisfied with this hotel. Very clean accommodation with comfortable bed and good facilities in the room. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of breakfast options. At this hotel the answer to any request seems to be yes. The stairs would be a...

Good position of hotel. Parking on street outside. Could be a problem getting a space but we always managed to. Stayed for 1 night. Room was clean and comfortable. Very pleasant. Didn't have a view. Only the back of another hotel. Breakfast was ok. Didn't have full English although it was available. Had poached eggs and tomatoes. Plenty of cereals...

Travelling with a small group for a one night stay in Douglas, we needed somewhere clean and reasonably priced to stay, and the positive reviews of this B&B caught the eye. Due to an error when booking the ferry, we were booked on the 2am ferry, not the 2pm ferry (we only ribbed the lad in our party that did...

Comfortable, great staff and food. Priced very well, excellent location. If you don't want to climb stairs ask to be put on the first floor if possible. It's a Victorian building so no lift. Also with location sea views are not possible although walk 5 mins and you are there

Couldn't have been more convenient for our purpose (visiting the Beer Festival), situated directly opposite the Villa Marina. Booked a twin but actually got a triple, so a bigger room than expected. Beds are very comfortable. Nathan was very helpful

I can only endorse the positive comments made by previous contributors. The Athol House is friendly, clean, good value, and only a hundred yards from the sea front at Douglas. A full breakfast is available, and will set you up for the day. It's a great base to explore Douglas, and the rest of this fascinating island.
