We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend Hillside. The building is lovely from the outside. (Thatched roof). Its bright and spacious inside. The dining room looks out through the conservatory to the garden and the view to the sea beyond and was lovely on sunny mornings that we had. Bedrooms were comfortable. Good quality bed and duvet. bathroom...

Hillside sets itself out as a boutique hotel and is indeed a lovely building, beautifully furnished and with interesting art works. But it just didn't have the right feel for us. The little touches that make a stay special were missing. no cup of tea on arrival, not having tea making facilities in the rooms. Only being able to have...

Original choice was fully booked and so we came across this little gem. We were not disappointed. Setting idyllic, hospitality was perfect, management attending to our every need and the food was 5 star. Breakfast was full and hearty and the evening meal was absolutely delicious. Our room was clean, stylish and overlooked the sea. Just lovely. So pleased our...

We stayed here for a two night 'treat ourselves' break and just didn't want to leave. Very relaxing outdoor and indoor areas. Service and food wonderful with ultra friendly owners. Would recommend without hesitation! It is on a steep hill so if mobility is a problem it won't necessarily be for you (although you could spend a day just relaxing...

It was too hot and noisy in the room. Too many limited in the hotel. Firstly , not allow to drinking in the room , even soft drink. Secondly , not allow to order any take away to the hotel and can't eat any food in the room. Finally , we asked for 1 hour late check out , but...

This is almost certainly the best hotel on the Isle of Wight. It is beautifully presented, very stylish, demonstrates great taste, the staff are lovely and a huge amount of effort has been put in to make this a really first class place to stay..... However, I will never be going back..... Why... read on... Its really simple, and this,...

Potentially very good with a fine location and stylish decor, but some shortcomings leading to a lower score. Our room was rather small, and (on a warm but not exceptionally hot English summer night) stuffy and airless even with the window fully open, so sleeping was difficult. Had a confirmed reservation for their restaurant only to be phoned two days...

We booked this as a chance to visit IOW and stay in a nice hotel. Very disappointed. We checked in at 3pm and told we couldn't eat at the restaurant as it is a You Book We Cook policy only and the next night we could eat-the menu was Duck. No bar to sit at just drinks brought over by...

We had a wedding to go to in the New Forest back in June and decided to spend a couple of days on the IOW; my first time back since I was a child. We stayed at Hillside because in all honestly it looked lovely from what we could see online. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The hotel...

We were welcomed warmly on arrival,at this very pretty Thatched house and shown to our lovely large and Bright room which was , immaculately clean and had a stylish contemporary feel to it with large original pieces of modern art hanging on the walls. The bed was extremely comfortable, with high thread count quality sheets. The setting is amazing with...
