Arrived and found had been put in an upstairs room, my fault as should have requested ground floor. There is no lift in building, but plans afoot to install one. Owners extremely helpful when we explained and were able to find us a suitable room on ground floor with a shower, rather than a bath. Staff all very friendly and...

Firstly the Isle of Wight is amazing and weather lovely. The hotel is a typical old seaside hotel that really needs upgraded. The bathroom in our room (43) had been refurbished and was lovely but the water would not run away in the shower. The bedroom was old and dated. The food was awful DB&B had dinner out after the...

This made me a bit dubious about the whole holiday and what the hotel was going to be like , but I needn't have worried, the hotel was a bit old fashioned but everything else was brilliant, Our...

Although we live on the island my husband and I like to get away occasionally to other parts, as Shanklin is my favourite that was where we decided to go on my husband's birthday. I initially chose this hotel as not only was it great value at £62 for a double room on a half board basis but it also...

had a good weeks holiday at medehamstede hotel, nice friendly staff, room basic but very clean, maid service every day, food was good, waiter/waitress service was really good, nice to have table service rather than buffet style, evening entertainment was great each night, we enjoyed our stay and would visit this hotel again.

Only a one night stay but enjoyed it. Very nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. A bit expensive but all I could get, everywhere booked. I had a special rate, still expensive and no breakfast, still enjoyed stay. Not too far to walk to sea front.
