Stayed 5 nights in premium room (Maple) - worth the extra. All the many plus points have already been mentioned (Mike's food, Carol's charm and hospitality, Angie's font of all knowledge and skill with the Bears!). It is quite simply a charming small hotel of great character (yes, it's small, so expecting service levels of a large 5 star hotel...

If you want peace and quiet, seclusion, tradition (but not old fashioned) and unrivalled hospitality; Rylstone Manor is it. I can't fault our stay. The bedroom was perfectly presented and the servicing immaculate. Likewise the public rooms were just fantastic. The front door is only accessible by guests and the well stocked bar opens at 7pm for pre-dinner drinks by...

Spent three nights at this delightful hotel. Well located in a traffic free spot on the cliff above Old Shanklin and Shanklin Chine it is a great place to relax on an Isle of Wight break. The breakfasts were excellent and served by the lovely Angie ,who is an absolute gem -so friendly and helpful with a vast knowledge of...

Dear Carol B, Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed most about your stay. Unfortunately one of the perils, as you discovered, of booking via an OTA is that you can't get the information about all the rooms available as much as you can by calling us direct. For most small hotels like ours you will...

My husband and I recently enjoyed a three night stay Rylstone Manor Hotel. This is a small and intimate hotel. The bedrooms are all individually decorated and named after trees. Guests are therefore known to hotel staff by their tree ie as Mr &Mrs Maple, Ash etc. We were not disappointed by the cuisine either. Menus composed on the day...

Dear Jea89, glad you enjoyed your stay at Rylstone. I am sorry that you were not offered assistance with your luggage, it is something I (Mike) normally do. If Carole was on her own at the desk then she may have felt the case too big/heavy for her to lift or me in the kitchen on departure. But once again...

Following our Honeymoon at Rylstone Manor Hotel 42 years ago, we have just returned for a few days break. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, in lovely surroundings, excellent food and caring staff and owners. Lived up to our expectations.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Rylstone Manor Hotel to celebrate our Ruby Wedding and to remember our honeymoon, which had also been in Shanklin, although at a different hotel. We were greeted on arrival by Mike and Carole and were shown to the Ash Room, chosen because of its description as the lightest room in the hotel....

My wife and I stayed here for a short break away from our busy businesses and our first trip to the IOW. Charming building, beautiful decor, attractive, quiet and convenient location set in a small park in Shanklin. Mike, Carole and staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. The waitress (sorry we didn't ask your name) was a mine of...

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are just glad you enjoyed your stay on the island. Now you know where we are perhaps we'll see you again. We can now book ferries with both companies. We loved this place! After a beastly night at one of those corporate chain hotels, we were ready for somewhere a bit more personal and the Rylstone is certainly that. The rooms are beautifully decorated and all completely individual - there are hand-made teddy bears on all the beds which was a sweet touch. We arrived late but our host,...
