Beach front location, lovely view of the sea. Popular venue. Food is good, lots to choose from including a specials board and servings are plentiful, not expensive at all. Go for a drink, go for a meal, or do what we did, went for a drink and ended up staying to eat as well. :)

Well this is a regular haunt for us but with varied results, our recent visit was a lovely sunny lunchtime after a walk along the esplanade at Shanklin I had the minced beef pie of the day and can only say that it was really enjoyable I couldn't fault it, however my wife's fish dish was another disappointment. Along with...

We came over for a short break and wanted a good evening meal. Both my friend and I had the Liver, Bacon and onions with mashed potato and peas and it was lovely. The liver was really tender but the portions were huge so I couldn't finish it all. The place was buzzing so very popular. The view looking over...

Visited on a lunchtime. It was busy but plenty of free tables inside. We both had the 6oz burger with additional cheese and bacon. A generous portion of chips with some salad. The desserts looked delicious but the meal was more than enough. The Steamer is not the cheapest place to eat but our two meals with 2 drinks came...

Popped in for lunch whilst visiting Shanklin. Seating inside and out, large place on seafront. Great food, perfect view. Recommend the 3 cheese ploughmans lunch - excellent. Portions on large size though. Really good value, staff very friendly. Will go back again definitely

I visited The Steamer last week for lunch with a family member. The place was busy but not rammed, we chose a nice table outside under the awning. The bar staff and waitresses are pleasant and friendly. The menu has quite a large choice, quite a few meals seemed expensive for what they were though. In the end we both...
