We stayed at the Birkdale Jan/Feb 17. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable, and Bill and Jackie couldn't have been more welcoming. It is an ideal location, 2 mins walk from Shanklin Old Town. There is parking on the front driveway and plenty of storage in the room with a great shower. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice...

Feel very lucky to have been a guest here! Jackie and Bill were very welcoming and excellant hosts. Our room was well furnished with every comfort and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a real feast, beautifully cooked by Bill and served by Jackie! The location of the Birkdale was perfect for us, central to the village with lovely places to eat...

We were made to feel very welcome by Bill and Jackie during our recent stay with them. The room and en-suite were spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean, as are all the other rooms that we saw. There was a very good choice for breakfast and Bill's cooked breakfast is highly recommended. The Birkdale is in a quiet road and...

Great location near Shanklin old town. Walking distance to some nice pubs and restaurants. The Birkdale is lovely and clean with great owners who are really helpful. The breakfasts are really good and you can choose exactly what you want. Great parking on the front of the hotel.

We booked 3 nights and picked a winner with the Birkdale. Jackie and Bill were wonderful hosts and very accommodating when we unexpectedly had to make a last minute change. The accommodation is nice and contemporary and spotless, Bill's breakfast is not to be missed. The hotel is within a short stroll of a good selection of places to eat...

Booked 3 nights at this hotel after reading some reviews. It is in a side street so quiet at night. The hotel is just a stones throw from the old village so a brilliant location. On arrival,we were greeted by Bill and Jackie and given tea before seeing the room. The room was in spotless condition and was a large room compared with...

From arriving to sadly leaving, Jackie and Bill were fantastic hosts. The breakfasts were filling and loved the poached eggs. Our room number 6 was a lovely double and very quiet at the back of the property. The B&B is one minute from the high street and 5 minutes from the beach. Fantastic location and lots of places for lunch...

Three nights in spacious room 4 with a great en suite and good breakfasts. Well located close to the old village which is little changed since I first visited Shanklin 40 years ago. Jackie and Bill are excellent hosts which was confirmed by the relaxed atmosphere in the breakfast room. Recommended.

Jackie and Bill are great hosts, with a guarantee of a warm welcome and a comfortable stay at their lovely B&B in The Isle Of Wight. The Birkdale is set in Shanklin Village, two minutes away from the pretty thatched roofed pubs and Shanklin Chine, and in an ideal location for an evening at the Shanklin Theatre which is only...
