We had 3 rooms booked, all doubles of which 2 were standard doubles and 1 (room 12) was really lovely - incredibly spacious and a very large king size bed - and the view over the cathedral. We had a number of friends unable to attend, and the hotel were fantastic by automatically changing the pricing from double occupancy to... More

Pleasant hotel with many lovely original features plus resident friendly feline Oliver😻 Staff all friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay, lovely views from the garden/patio we stayed in rms 2 and 3 and both were spacious and clean. My only slight personal disappointment was the bed was too soft for my liking

Excellent B&B in Durham. Spacious rooms, comfortable and large beds, and very nice en suite bathrooms with a comfortable bathtub/shower. Our room had a lovely view of the Durham Cathedral. Downside is that it's about a 20 min walk from town or the train station for visitors without a car. Good range of breakfast choices.

Booked this hotel because of the good reviews. Beautiful house, view from room 11 stunning, room good size, bed not as comfortable as I had read in previous reviews, disappointed in some wee things. We stayed for 5 days and the bathroom wasn't cleaned once, towels weren't changed and tea coffee wasn't replenished a couple of times. First day we... More

Farnley Tower is advertised as a Hotel but in fact its a B&B but don't let that put you off unless you want the bar open all the time as the bar here is only open at set times also its not as lively as a hotel. But this place was perfect for us it was quiet and we could relax... More

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The views from the hotel were great, and it was only a short walk into the centre of Durham.

We booked here last minute after deciding to visit Durham and got a good deal on last minute.com. We arrived early but had a warm welcome and were allowed to check in immediately . The room was large enough and lovely and light, it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although it was a cold day the hotel was lovely... More

Stayed for one night, this was enough, awful bed like laying in a marshmallow, no view of the cathedral as it says unless you sleeping on the tiles on the roof, room very dated and in need of a good fettle, toilet roll holder on the skirting board of the en suite, breakfast poor and full of people in and... Just in case you think you've rolled up into an episode of faulty towers. It's not that bad. We had no intention of staying in Durham overnight until the last minute so this is what we could find at short notice and its what real estate agents like to call character filled.... Although is walking distance to most things and... More

We stayed at Farnley Towers on a Sunday evening in March. It was a shame that the restaurant and bar was closed and the advice to visit a local Italian was a mistake as that was closed too. However the room was immaculately clean and the breakfast outstanding. The location is also superb.
