We pulled up at this lovely looking hotel and were very impressed with the building. Fabulous entrance and beautiful stonework and windows. Gorgeous large double room at the front with double aspect windows, lovely and light. Great to have a proper full size bath as well as the shower. It would have been nice to be on the other side...

We have just spent the weeken here and the mantra for the weekend in Room 6 became mind the step and mind your head. The bedroom was small the bed almost touching the radiator on one side with the other up against the wardrobe. The bathroom could not have been smaller A main concern was arriving back on Saturday afternoon...

It's always hard to find a hotel that ticks all the boxes but when I came across Farnley Tower I thought I had. Nothing is free in this world so to advertise parking free, breakfast free, WiFi free I thought you mean included in the price. I liked the pictures and the idea of an old Victorian building that was...

We had a nice big twin room at the front of the house. (Room 9).Large bathroom with everything we needed. It was all very clean, and the rest of the house gave a good impression as well. The beds were very comfortable. There are two dressing tables and enough hanging space. The room was warm and cosy and yet the...

Have stayed here before ,this time found it very disappointing.Room adequate apart from noisy floorboards.Had a leak in the bathroom, and had to ask for towels. The elderly man who we saw previously was very polite and attentive .Otherwise there was very little management I put,and any complaints were dismissed and the Manager who I finally managed to speak to on...

Very deceiving from photos. Set in a residential area with a long walk into Durham and even longer coming back as up a really steep hill. Claimed to have magnificent views of cathedral but not sure where from unless you are stood on the roof. Room was small, bathroom tiny, and very dated. Not particularly clean. Not very inviting at...

We stayed at this property on a last minute booking over New Year. It is billed as a 4 star rating on booking website info. The hotel is in a good location, a short walk from the city centre, which it overlooks, and has good parking facilites. On arrival we were told the double room we had booked was not...

Nice place with very good breakfast. Good prizing and a lovely building. The room was a bit old but the place was clean. The hotel is connected to a nice restaurant. The hotel is up a hill butt still a short walking distance from the town center.

What a lovely welcoming hotel and only 10 minutes walk into the city centre. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Great breakfast with a weath of choice from full english to continental to suit. Lovely breakfast room. The hotel does have a restaurant (DH1) but as we found it is popular and...

An interesting building designed by and lived in by a leading Victorian architect, now with a separate top notch restaurant in the basement! The spacious room overlooking the lawn had a comfortable King size bed. Victorian height ceilings allowed for air circulation and the room was very warm even though the outside temperature was 6 degrees C. The small car...
