We just stayed here this weekend and the welcome and atmosphere was fantastic. Every one is so friendly and the food here is superb. Will be looking forward to staying again. Will had a 60th party on the Saturday night and the buffet was excellent with hit sandwich.

My husband and I booked a two night stay with our dog. A very friendly and warm welcome from the owners Ian and Sonya and their staff . Our room was very clean and comfortable. The traditional pub area was very cozy and comfortable. We ate in the bar both nights . There was an extremely good choice of freshly...

I stayed here for two nights while visiting friends. And a more friendlier place I couldn't have found. My room was clean and very comfortable. My friends and I ate here on the first night and the food was delicious, plentiful and a very good price. And not just the normal 'pub grub'. The next morning, a Saturday, it was...

We stayed one night on Bank Holiday Monday to break up a journey from the north East back down south, and decided to take in a visit to High Force Waterfall. This was the only B&B for a reasonable price near the area I could find. The outside does not do the pub justice, and my family were concerned what...

15 minutes from the city of Durham so perfect for a drive up from south England and ready the next morning to tackle Durham Cathedral and castle - except the latter was shut - again! This place was clean and comfortable, few frills but it was a decent price for that and the lady who seemed to be running it...

4 of us enjoyed a 6 night stay at this great little pub. It is ideally situated between Durham city and the Dales. Yes, the outside could do with a bit of sprucing up but inside it is great. We were welcomed warmly by Sonia and she and all her staff gave us excellent and friendly service all the time...
