Popped in here for something to eat, only to be told they'd stopped doing food, so the landlord then give us a lift to two nearby places because the nearest had also stopped doing food. My wife and I went in later for a drink and he wouldn't even accept a drink from us. If we had known about this...

This is our second visit, dropping our son off at Uni. It is about a 5 min drive from the Hill Colleges and very easy to find. The Inn doesn't look much from the outside, but the staff are so friendly and helpful, the food is stunning and three massive platefuls with soft drinks was less than £25! They do...

We fancied a change so we called in when we were passing to see if we could book a table for 6 at short notice for Sunday Lunch, You could smell the homemade roasts as soon as you walked through the door, what more could you want. Great smile and welcome from the girls behind the bar, " yes that...

Had a great weekend in Durham and stayed at the dale side arms in croxdale which is a proper old pub where we were made very welcome by Michael and Sandra. It was a great base about three miles out of Durham which gave us easy access to the many attractions and the famous northern hospitality. The rooms were spotlessly clean...

We called into the Daleside Arms for Sunday lunch. It was around 1.30 where we usually eat around 12. The food didn't come up to the usual high standards we have become accustomed to here. A little lacking in quality and quantity but never mind we'll make sure we get there earlier next time. Still one of our favourites.

Just returned from a two night stay here so we could visit friends for a birthday party. It's a very nice pub, full of charm and character, with great food and beer, the owners Michael and Sandra were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, the full English breakfast was top notch and just what the doctor ordered after...

If you're looking for a proper homemade Sunday dinner then this is the place for you. The meat's are beautifully cooked and come with loads of lovely veg (cabbage, carrots, roast parsnip) and mashed potato. Home made mint sauce just like my mother used to make..and an extra gravy boat with delicious gravy. You couldn't want for more. The staff...

We return to The Daleside time and time again as it is simply the best pub food in the area. My wife and I always have a Christmas dinner prior to the big day itself. As we have never had a complaint yet at this place, we decided that this would be the place for our pre Christmas lunch this...

Have eaten here many times. Never been disappointed. Pleasant restaurant separate from very nice small bar. All food is freshly prepared by the owner /chef. Excellent range of dishes. Nothing frozen - even chips are home made which isn't common these days. Portions are very generous - too big, as I'm too greedy to leave anything! Sunday lunch is very...
