The location and staff are perfect- breakfast delicious. A couple of quick upgrades would enhance experience and provide better value for tariff e.g. There were no fridges in and of the family suites or double rooms that we occupied , and strangely no extractor fan in bathroom which was sorely missed by the ladieS! Also bar could do with mood...

Stayed 2 nights at the New Year. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No qualms about storing luggage upon my very early arrival. Room was clean and comfortable. Perfect spot for walking to the cathedral and town. Wide selection of hot and cold choices at breakfast.

My other half booked us in for my birthday. What a great choice! The hotel is in a fantastic position in Durham, couldn't have been better. The pool and spa area was really lovely to chill out. All the staff were so friendly and breakfast was really good. I have to admit being quite fussy about hotel breakfasts. I hate...

A good basic room in a brilliantly located place in the city, to be fair is probably more like 3.5 stars. Bed pretty comfy, bar pretty well stocked & still busy late at night, a Starbucks during the day & an amazing buffet breakfast. For me the highlight was the attentiveness of all the breakfast team, they really did go...

We stayed here for two nights last weekend and had a most relaxing stay. This is a hotel in an older building and it has lots of character. We stayed in one of the superior rooms in the older building. We particularly enjoyed the four poster bed! For eating out we recommend El Coto, the tapas place up the road....

Wheelchair access good. We ate just behind the lobby area. Which you see on your left as you enter the hotel's main doors. Cleanliness is good. No Loud or obnoxious music. We had a quiet visit to a degree. Which was nice. (Apart from the set of people who were arguing loudly , which was very disruptive. It turns out...

It had been some time since I last stayed here, but it was good to be back in Durham. I had to come back twice in quick succession and have to say that the warm welcome I received on the first night was surpassed the second time. To be greeted almost like a long lost friend was quite touching in...

Pretty much used this hotel just as a convenient place to met friends and family. Did not use any of the facilities as there was no time , but it has a good spa and pool. The central location is perfect, opposite the main shopping area and 10 mins walk to the cathedral - its all uphill!! Overnight parking on...

Stayed here for one night to attend their Hogmanay dinner dance, which was excellent. Arrival at the hotel was both professional and welcoming, I especially liked the idea of having a doorman to greet and direct us to the reception. The receptionist was very friendly and took time to clarify what was within our room rate and clarify times and...
