This was the second time we had stayed in this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on that occasion. This time was different: there were 2 weddings, 1 golden wedding anniversary party and a 60th birthday party all on the same day. This affected level of service for guests like ourselves and the standards of hygiene etc were compromised. Sorry...

Stayed here last night on recommendation by a colleague Immediately felt like being transported back in time upon entering the the castle. The attention to detail is amazing. Bags taken to room by the friendly porter Big comfy bed and quilt. Woken by birds in the morning which was nice! Close enough to easily commute into Newcastle centre this morning

Beautifully lit up at night. restaurant prices looked high, but I ate out as I...

Stayed at Lumley Castle last Saturday night to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. I booked rooms in the castle for all 9 of us. We had 2 double, 1 twin and 1 family room. Rooms 55, 56, 58 and 44. The twin room (58) was definitely the largest. All the rooms were different which makes a nice change from the...

We recently stayed here for one night in a courtyard room which was a wonderful experience. Included in our stay was a delicious cream tea in the library room. Would recommend staying in this unique hotel .

We stayed at this hotel with a Rail Discoveries group and were delighted with the accommodation and service. We were in the castle view rooms which are separate from the main building with quite an interesting walk to the dining rooms but the journey was well worth it.

The courtyard room was quaint, comfortable but with character, although at 6' 2'' I was a bit tall for the shower! The walk along a corridor lined with statues is a really atmospheric way to prepare for what was a really lovely meal.
