If going to Durham I always stay at this Premier Inn. Central location, it’s clean, quiet and helpful staff. When offers are on you can also get a bargain price. Great for sightseeing or dropping the kids off at Uni.

It’s difficult to write a review in such uncertain and restricted times but this place is a gem amongst the confusion. So it’s a Premier Inn and we all know what to expect. Central location, Hypnos Bed, clean and a peaceful nights sleep. So this place has all of that and it is really close to the areas you want to visit and close to many bars and restaurants. But this was during Covid and so there were restrictions everywhere, but the staff were brilliant in explaining everything to every customer. And that is probably where the review needs to head. The staff here are brilliant, attentive, smiling and taking time to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed. I have to single out Colleen, because she went the extra mile everyday. That’s not to the detriment of the other staff because they were equally good, even the youngsters had a warm northern welcome and chat that you just don’t get in the likes of London. For that we thank them and want their managers know that they are a credit to them. Thanks for a lovely time and making my special weekend so pleasurable in those difficult circumstances.

All staff fantastic, Abbie from the night team especially. She has a great personality. Couldn’t do enough for me. The rooms were lovely and clean. Very COVID secure. Shame about the kitchen being closed, but can’t be helped.

We stayed for one night in October half term, on our way up to Scotland. Very centrally located to explore Durham. Conveniently right next to the leisure centre, perfect for a morning swim. Staff were friendly and helpful. And for £35 a night you can’t complain. Multi story car park right next door for £9 for 24 hours, I think we could have found somewhere cheaper but it was convenient. Would recommend!

2 night stay in 2 rooms- one double -one twin. Very clean. Super friendly staff. Great location. Car park at the back of the hotel so convenient. King size bed and bathroom isn’t small. Shower hot. Basic accommodation- no frills at all but comfortable bed and at this price and location it can’t be faulted. Only point for improvement is noisy heating fan, and no extractor fan in the bathroom. Will stay again if Durham uni opens up for open days.
