From the busy life working in a city to a relaxed and calming piece of heaven. Our trip to Love North Devon was completely overwhelming and the hospitality was faultless. No request was too much and everything you need was on hand. Amanda and her family made our trip such a pleasure making every part even more enjoyable. We will...

A fantastic holiday in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We stayed in Ladybird barn for a week with our 4 children (aged 3, 7, 13, 14). It is hard to find a holiday that everyone enjoys equally as our children are 11 years apart, but here everyone was happy. From collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, walks in the wood, the treehouse...

We had a really lovely stay at Copper Kettle Cottage,Down Farm. It was a beautiful, relaxing place with a wonderful lake where our children (aged 13 and 10) spent many hours swimming, rowing and having fun sliding down a very long slide into it. My daughter looked after the hens, letting them out every morning, collecting their eggs and putting...

We loved our stay at the the farm! It's really a place you need to visit to appreciate just how beautiful this part of the world. Bubbly Mandy and zestful Adrian helped us to really get the most out of our weeks stay. Our two kids have amazing memories now, and we certainly will be back to enjoy the copper...

This is all part of Down Farm (with thanks to William Henry Davies), the boughs, the sheep, the woods, streams, stars and smiles.... What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods...

As all the other reviews say; Absolutely five star experience. Beautiful setting, stunning accommodation, fabulous hosts. Just book it! The whole area is magical. Great Exmoor pubs, award-winning beaches, lots of local attractions to visit. Definitely returning again this year. Just perfect.

This was our 4th stay, another week in Copper Kettle Cottage. The Budd family keep improving on perfection and the facilities are even better. We love the cottage and its cosy décor, but the real pleasure is outside - the chickens, the cats, the space for our 3 small children to play safely, the tree house, the lake complete with...

My partner and I came to Love North Devon Holidays and stayed in The Copper Kettle Cottage for my birthday weekend, it was so peaceful and beautiful there. The cottage is skillfully decorated with high quality furnishings, comfortable sofas, a wood burner, beautiful country cottage style furniture and a soft colour scheme throughout the cottage. The whole place was absolutely...

For what we thought was a relatively small town, we were pleasantly surprised. Plenty going on and Plenty of cafes etc. Found the town clean despite all the holiday makers. A visit to Croyde bay was great.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We share our farm with 200+ Devon Longhair Sheep. We also have 15 free range hens; they camp out in their garden, when we have guests staying, they like to be fed little bits of crumbs... kids love this. They can pick your own eggs each morning for breakfast, (I think the record is from Hen to Table, 6 minutes...) and we have 7 cats who like nothing more than to have their tummies rubbed. Please let me know if there are any pet allergies, the cats are not supposed to go into the cottages, but they can’t resist an open door or window. We have a young family of Deer who spend their mornings in our wood. Sheltering under the holly bushes or drinking from the lake, early birds will catch a wonderful glimpse of them. We also have Foxes, dozens of Hares, Ducks, Geese, Bats, a Barn Owl and a resident Buzzard, who the boys have called Buzz, he often sits on the telegraph poles and monitors the comings and goings on the farm. The lake is stocked with Carp and Brown Trout for budding anglers, or alternatively you may just want to row on the boat, or even swim in the fresh water lake... We have a glorious tree house for which children of all ages can play in. We also have a lake house which is currently being overhauled with new doors and windows. The interior will then be panelled out and ready for the log burner so that will become a restful haven to read. We are in the perfect location to explore what our unique county has to offer. Set in its own delightful south facing valley, we have stunning views across our fifty three acre organic estate and beyond. Our Grade II listed former farm welcomes you with easygoing warmth, and an enchanting blend of Georgian opulence, set amid south facing parkland with ancient woodlands, streams and a fresh water lake. We love it here at Down Farm (which is why we called our business Love North Devon) and we're sure you and your family will too. I am currently this month up loading a new Website, packed with photos and information; please feel free to have a look at it. ... more   less
