One night stay, we found this hotel on a search, we needed some where central as we had entered a bike challenge on the Saturday morning. The owner was very helpful as we had to store two bikes and keep them safe. He let us store them in his function room. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave...

Travelling alone on business I wanted a 'single' room and was on a tight budget. My room, at the back of the house was well-appointed, clean and comfortable. I had a large, single bed, which was ideal. The view from the bedroom window was a little dismal but I was only there to sleep so it mattered not. Lovely and...

Stayed here for three nights due to working in the area. Friendly owner (over friendly most times) on arrival but it went downhill from there. It seemed like Bates Motel from the film Phsyco with mother always pottering about in the background. The room was very old and slightly smelly and in dire need of a makeover. Shower had hardly...

I recently stayed here for three nights in a single room. The room was well equipped and clean. The.breakfasts and dinners were excellent, and the proprietor was very helpful and a great source of local stories. I had the best steak and kidney pie I've had for years, which apparently come from a local bakery. The only weak point was...

In need of extensive refurbishment! Old carpets, hearing off at night. Shower didn't work properly and mouldy, old bedding and very cold. Owner called us up 30 mins after booking and told us to come ASAP as reception was not 24 hours! Told him we'd only just booked and were having a bite to eat. Had to really knock when...
