Chose to stay here for our mini-moon as we wanted something with a bit of luxury near to the Lakes but within budget. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Its around a 45 minute car drive to Windermere and the moment you pull into the driveway you get the wow factor. Check-in was quick and welcoming although we didn't get...

I got married at the abbey house hotel on on Easter Monday. It was absolutely amazing the staff were all fantastic and so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. We have had a few delays during the planning of the wedding and have had to adjust the amount of guests and also what rooms we needed, sometimes...

First time staying here. Couldn't fault anything about this hotel! The room was great, the surroundings of the hotel lovely, evening meal was amazing! Along with all the staff working. Will definitely be back to visit again! Definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed at.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for a friend's wedding. The hotel was gorgeous, spotlessly clean and spacious room. Not all rooms come with baths but we called ahead and got a room with a huge bath. Breakfast was nice but the cooked breakfast was small and had to wait a long time for a cup of tea....

Lovely newly refurbished room, quite spacious really overlooking well maintained gardens. Check in was easy, welcoming and efficient. This hotel has corporate stamped all over it; the majority of clientele seemed to be businessmen presumably visiting the local industries. We only had acdrink in the bar and it was OK as pervthe surroundings but £4.50 for a bottle of real...

Have been a bit of a fan lately of the Abbey House Hotel, 15 min walk from home (saves the taxi) & for special treats, this one our 41st wedding anniversary. Arrived Saturday 8th April, wedding Party, fine, thats what they do. We were taken to the "conservatory", even better, nice views over the gardens towards Furness Abbey, just out...

Last minute booking helpful receptionist booked on the phone matched the internet price which saved time and hassle. Hotel on the edge of town @ 2 miles from the centre with Furness abbey in the valley below which compares well with Foutains... seriously. High housekeeping standards well fitted and designed. the building was the Lutyens deigned house for the chairman...
