The location is perfect, just a short stroll into the village where all the bars, restaurants and the lake is. The cottage is nice and clean with a very friendly owner. The breakfast was nice, basic but tasty. The only downside for me is that there was a lot of banging and noise from around half 7 in the morning,...

With Bowness a 5 minute stroll away, views of the lake from the room and Windermere close by, the location is perfect! This was the idyllic country escape I had hoped for, made even better by the friendliness and warmth provided by the host Adrian. Hamish the welcoming dog was a real treat and also very friendly but extremely well...

We couldn't complain but we hoped for more. The Lake View was a building site. Which should improve once the Steamboat Museum is completed.Excellent Breakfast. The garden and waterfall are impressive but the walk to the Lakeside is further than implied. Bowness is about a 10 min stroll away.Overall we thought it was Ok but wouldnt rush back.

We are sorry to hear that you were underwhelmed, and that we did not meet your expectations! However, we are pleased to hear that you were impressed with the garden and breakfast.

We only stayed for at Stockghyll Cottage for 3 nights, but wished we could have stayed longer. Located lakeside, Stockghyll offers superb lake views only meters away in addition to hidden gems such as the waterfall in the back garden (pictured). The room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable, my only qualm was the shower size, however in...

Had a lovely stay at the cottage. The cottage its self is very cute and traditional. Excellent location with bowness town center and promenade only being a 10 minute walk. Our room was clean and cosy. There is currently building work across the road for a new steam museum but that didn't bother us at all. The cottage has a...

Lovely family run cottage. Very relaxing from the moment we were greeted to when we checked out. We only stayed overnight as it was my partners birthday. The bedroom was small which was the only downside, it had complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. It also had a small private bathroom which was a bonus. Windermere itself is beautiful. The...

A nice bed and breakfast which was very clean, well appointed and welcoming. Parking is a bit tight and often necessitates backing in from or out onto a busy bend in the road. There is construction work going on opposite the house but the owners thoughtfully offer explanation which will in the future offer beautiful views of Windermere. Breakfast was...

Very handy to main business area, hotels, restaurants are all within walking distance. Very clean room and a great full breakfast included. Parking can be a little difficult but manageable. Just across the road from Lake Windermere.
