Stopped here last minute and had the last room available which I think was the smallest however the other rooms looked great and spacious. The welcome and service from the staff was great and the breakfast was excellent. Location good too as almost halfway between Windermere and bowness so a reasonably short walk to either.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this guest house. The staff is fantastic, the room is very comfortable, a great shower to relax from the hiking days in the mountains. Breakfast is delicious, plenty of food and variety. Quality of fruits, yoghurts, bacon, cereals, all superb. The location is great between Windermere and Bowness, plenty of restaurants nearby...

Stayed in superior room on top floor. There are no lifts, so be aware. Lovely room, nice and clean. An ironing board and iron are supplied which is an added bonus. Television was a bit small but we werent on holiday to watch tele. Plenty of choice at breakfast, Salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious. Staff were pleasant and friendly.

We stayed here recently on a short break. The hotel overall was very nice with modern well equipped rooms, with superbly comfy beds and the staff were excellent. Parking was ample out front and the location is about halfway from the lake to the town. The only downsides were the tired lounge and bar area, tiny bathroom (caravan size) plus...

The price is higher and In my opinion you can now stay in a luxury hotel for less but this seems to be throughout Windermere at the moment doubt we will return.I must...

The Woodlands is a pleasant guesthouse located right between Windermere and Bowness. The rooms are well-kept with a nice decor. The bathrooms are a bit on the small side, however this is to be expected in an old property like this. Staff is very friendly.
