The Linthwaite is a great hotel for some serious relaxing in a comfortable unstuffy environment, lovely public areas with great views and sofas you don't want to leave, expecially with the addition of a roaring fire. The Loft Suite is rather special and the bathroom amazing, the extremely large bath and massive walk in shower were a real treat. The...

My sister in law is recovering from cancer, and I wondered where to take her for a short stay to cheer her up. The Linthwaite came to mind, as she had treated me and my wife to a weekend for our silver wedding anniversary. A special offer price made the final decision, and so we booked and were on our...

We stayed at linthwaite house to celebrate my birthday and I have to say from the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel special, everything about the hotel is exceptional. Once checked in we were given a tour of the hotel and shown to our room, which was beautiful. We decided to have the champagne afternoon...

Our second visit for DBB in less than 6 months!...and we are now working out the logistics for 2 nights next time as we just want to be able to relax and enjoy the ambience... Long story short, disabled child, limited support and even less "spare time"...so what we have as a couple is extremely valuable, and we have found...

Our children bought us a night at this hotel with dinner and breakfast as a treat for my husbands 60th. What a fantastic present. From arrival to departure everything was so well organised and delivered with quality customer service. Although we have not stayed there before the staff knew which room we were in without having to keep asking us...

Enjoyed a lovely 2-night break here in the January snow, to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. We chose Room 4 (lake views) as a special treat and were not disappointed. The hotel is warm and cosy, the food very good indeed and the housekeeping just immaculate. A really comfortable place to stay and well-placed for getting into Bowness or across...

Many thanks for the lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed the fabulous view from the bedroom of R4, which also has a huge bath and fabulous walk in shower. You can of course even enjoy a pretty good view from the bath too. We hope you'll be able to come back again soon, Best wishes from all of us at...

From the moment we checked-in till the time we departed we were totally "looked after" The staff were warm and welcoming and acted in a thoroughly professional manner. Their aim was to please and we were not disappointed. The food was exceptional from start to finish and the menu choice surprisingly large. If you need a quiet break or somewhere...

We stayed for 4 nights for my birthday treat. The setting is superb overlooking Windermere and ideally placed a short distance from Bowness and Windermere villages. The attention to detail at the hotel was very good - in particular - every single member of staff knew our names and what room we were in, which made the experience very personal....

Many thanks for your kind and objective review. You're absolutely right, it is best to phone and chat through the room options with the staff as you can't do this online. Online is great if you're booking a Holiday Inn or Travel Lodge but for hotels with more individuality and myriad room types it's best to phone! We hope to...

This was our first time at The Linthwaite House but I'm sure it won't be the last. What a lovely place to stay. The staff were so friendly, with nothing too much trouble. The lounges were warm and welcoming with comfortable settees and easy chairs in cosy groupings around the fires. We had afternoon tea which was just wonderful as...

Many thanks for your kind review. Yes, dinner isn't cheap, but we believe and many guests also believe, that the value for money is there, as many reviews below testify. Also dinner room and breakfast terms offer the very best value. Many so called hotels in the area don't even have a restaurant these days, they are actually B&B's pretending...
