We stayed at this hotel as we visited Alton towers and the trentham monkey village. The hotel was lovely and clean and a great price. We tend to use premier Inn now for all our family days out as it's a good value room with a clean comfortable room. I would recommend for family's.not much around but there is a McDonalds about 5mins drive down the road which we brought back to the room after a long day in Alton towers.

Good bed and pleasant basic room. All as you expect of this brand. No AC in the room with poor ventilation but there was a fan provided. Location on a dual carriageway makes this accessible but only by car. The adjoining pub and restaurant were closed when we were there but by good fortune we neither planned breakfast nor evening meal.

The bath was filled a little high and went down the over flow, so I thought. Instead it leaked all over the floor and it was flooded as the over flow wasn’t connected properly. We used our towels to soak it up and told them and they brought up 3 more and said I’ll clean it once your out the room. We went out for dinner, when we came back she had left our old soaked towels in the bath(where it says to leave them if you want them replaced) and used 2 of our new ones to clean up the floor. Still leaving a puddle all round the door and parts of the toilet! So we only had 1 towel between 2 of us. So I didn’t have a shower the next morning as my partner was using the other towel. There was no effort to clean it up or actually replace our towels we wasn’t happy at all. Also the room was incredibly hot and even with the window down and the temperature on the lowest setting we was still to hot. we won’t ever stay at that premier inn again as that’s just disgraceful.

Picked this hotel over other Premier Inn based on other reviews. A quiet hotel about 50mins from Alton Towers. Stayed 2 nights, good value and staff nice and helpful. Could easily tell we were not the only family doing this. Shame the restaurant was closed, but happily stay there again.

I understand this hotel does not have air conditioning (before Premier Inn leave their generic reply) but we spent a very uncomfortable night in an unbearably hot room! I have been abroad in peak season without air con and not experienced heat like this, at 1am the room was 27.5* and we were all feeling like we couldn’t breathe and dizzy, although it looks like Premier Inn have been aware of this issue for many years looking back on reviews (yes I wish I had of read the reviews before booking as I certainly would of booked somewhere else). We booked one night before travelling to Alton Towers but due to not being able to sleep we had two very tired and irritable children the next morning when we had booked this hotel for a nice relaxing early night before the early start the next day. Also I was informed less than 24hr before our stay that the restaurant was going to be shut, which I presumed could not be avoided and was a last minute closure as per the email I received. When we arrived the restaurant has been shut for a couple of month so why they only told us the day before is not acceptable. The hotel is quite remote and you will have to travel to find somewhere else to eat. I always book premier inn as the I know we will be arriving to friendly staff and a clean hotel which we got but unfortunately it was booked as a room to sleep in for an early night to be rested for the next day and that we did not get. The location would have been brilliant if the restaurant would have been open and we didn’t have to leave to spend an hour trying to find somewhere to eat. Also ask for top floor as you can hear everything if someone is above you. We visit Alton Towers a lot but will not be staying at this Premier Inn again and will be sticking with other ones in the area.
