#1 of 6 hotels in Newcastle-under-Lyme
Travellers' Choice
The Borough Arms Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest established hotels in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent areas, with history dating back to 1783. The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today's visitors. Independently owned and managed, the hotel retains many period features and takes great pride in offering a very personal service. As a valued guest, you may be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure your comfort, whether you are staying in one of our 40 centrally heated, en-suite rooms, visiting us for a meal in the restaurant, or using our conference and banqueting facilities.

Great hotel excellent staff that go out of there way to help you. Meals arw varied and of excellent quality and value for money. The only let would be that customers and residents are allowed to stand at the bar drinking and talking to staff and each other although it is illegal to do so. There are clear signs displayed saying table service only but they arw clearly being ignored and safety becomes an issue. Other than this thee Borough Arms cannot be faulted.

I’m diabetic and struggling to keep off meds. That means you become the worst customer in a restaurant. Here I was made to feel changes to my menu option were not a problem and the staff were so accommodating jn the ostlers restaurant. Checking in - we couldn’t have been made more welcome. The rooms are simple but all we need to do is sleep in them! The staff were so friendly and really were welcoming!

Lovely hotel. Our room had just been fitted with a new carpet. Bathroom a little dated but lots of hot water. Bedding and towels were crisp and white. Communication with the hotel was fantastic and the staff were great, so accommodating. We would definitely use this hotel again.
