This is British B&B at its best - beautiful peaceful setting by the sea, friendly farm animals, hearty breakfast and home-baked afternoon tea . Every thoughtful attention to detail has been taken care of and the most hospitable welcome from Jane and Keith - a gem of a place and a real treat

We (two adults and a three and five year old) stayed at Swallows Rest (Swallows Suite) for three nights in August 2016 and loved every minute of it. The suite was large, clean and very well equipped with everything we needed including a super king sized bed that was so comfortable it was depressing to come home to normality! The... More

I have stayed here now 3 times, and will be going back in a week. I come to Weymouth for the water sports and LOVE camping at Swallows Rest. Great location - a few mins drive from Portland Harbour; a nice pub round the corner; and excellent facilities on site. Small and simple, but making camping easy, family friendly, and... More

Jane and Keith take great pride in their home - and are continuing to make it something special. Home-made baking for guests every day, incredible breakfasts, large garden with rare breed birds, waterfowl and pot bellied pigs wandering and waddling everywhere. We had never stayed anywhere quite like this. Our traditional-looking room was spotlessly clean and offered great views across... More

What a fantastic place! Jane & Keith were lovely hosts. We had fresh cake or cookies in the room every day and they served tea in the dining room in an afternoon - with cake! The room was very spacious with a view of the garden and sea in the distance. Breakfast was amazing and the choice was great, you... More

Believe everything you read about the wonderful food, lovely rooms, great location, amazing garden and ducks, geese, chickens and pigs and to top all that they didn't falter for a second in ensuring that my friend and I had a great stay, even when I had booked the wrong night! Breakfast was fabulous and they easily accommodated my friends' gluten free diet with alternatives and an amazing cake. The couple who ran it were very friendly, welcoming and helpful telling us of good restaurants to visit. Rooms a good size and a lovely shower. I stayed in the single room which has a double bed. Thanks so much for that great review. We've thought of everything we'd like ourselves in a B&B and provided a basket of goodies in the rooms for guests to use. The gluten free cake is surprisingly good, made with ground almonds rather than flour. We're so pleased you and your friends enjoyed your stay and hopefully we'll see you here... More

Stayed for one night and experienced the best accommodation and hospitality we have ever had. The greeting on arrival was exceptional. Tea and home made meringue with fruit and cream awaited us. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs Burbidge. We enjoyed having you stay with us here at Swallows Rest. Our animals are always greatly appreciated, especially during breakfast time when they're on the terrace feeling very hungry. We've just taken delivery of a Temmincks Tragopan ornamental pheasant, really exciting. We're turning into a zoo! We look forward to welcoming you... More

This is a little off the beaten track and totally worth it. Tea and homemade cake await you on your arrival, you get a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed followed by a hearty breakfast with perfectly cooked poached eggs and handmade sausages, homemade marmalade and tea served in a proper pot.
