We stayed at this beautiful guest house for three nights. Penny was really lovely - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were definitely a highlight - including home made bread! Cannot fault anything and we would highly recommended this venue, and hope to return. Many thanks for everything Penny xx Added: October 14, 2016 Delete this entry

I arrived to a very friendly welcome and was shown up to a well designed, attractive and comfortable room with excellent en suite facilities. The breakfasts were delicious and I had the best scrambled eggs I have had in years. Thank you for making my six day stay so enjoyable.

Spotlessly clean and the breakfast is the best. I would recommend the LImes to anyone visiting the lakes. Penny makes you most welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The home made bread is wonderful also are all the home cakes etc.

From the initial contact with Penny, you just knew this was going to be a lovely place to stay. The welcome, accommodation and breakfast were just fantastic. Absolutely everything you could think of or possibly need was provided in the spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was served in the beautiful sunroom overlooking the immaculately kept garden and neighbouring pastures, sloping down...

Sally Tebbit We stayed at The Limes for 3 nights. Penny was a welcoming and thoughtful host prepared to go the extra mile to care for her guests' needs. The rooms were well designed and very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and sampled both Penny's excellent full English breakfast and the continental option. The portions in both...

Great overnight stay at The Limes, this B&B would be an ideal location for the The Lakes and The Yorkshire Dales. Penny has really hit the mark with the rooms and the Breakfast. Friendly welcome after a spur of the moment call to find a B&B last minute. Thanks ! Highly recommend The Limes

We arrived for a one night stay and immediately wished we'd booked for longer! The Limes first and foremost is a very comfortable B&B , which provides a very warm welcome. It's definitely a home from home: spotlessly clean, wonderfully resourced with a delightful view. Being equidistant from Ullswater and the Yorkshire Dales it's also exquisitely placed for wonderful days...

This B & B is of the very highest standard. The room had a lovely view from the window, is beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean and everything worked. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was generous and with a lot of choice. The Limes is one of the best guest houses that we have ever visited.

We have just had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Limes in Colby. Our ground floor double bedroom was very comfortable and having breakfast each morning in Penny's garden room, a complete joy. We counted so many different varieties of birds who visit the pretty garden and bird feeders. Penny greeted us warmly with a tray of tea and...

Firstly, the booking.com website got the distance of the B&B from my destination completely WRONG. The website claimed the B&B was 4.6 miles away, it was in fact almost 20 miles away! Arriving at the B&B after driving for 40 minutes mostly through countryside roads, I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. The owner was extremely friendly, the room very...
