I stayed at Hoops Inn with my husband and our teenage daughter. Very welcoming staff, comfortable and well appointed rooms and delicious food (ncluding plenty of tasty vegetarian options). The rooms were clean and had everything we needed and the inn is easy to find but very peaceful.

Would recommend to anyone, lovely grade 2 listed building, very clean and tidy place, great food & great value for money and very friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us. Also a great stop off if visiting Clovelly.

We stayed here for 1 night. The bedroom was very in keeping with the age of the property and was tastefully decorated with matching furniture. The bathroom was very modern and absolutely spotless with a good selection of toiletries and a fitted hair dryer. Wifi was included as was Sky tv channels along with on site parking. The staff were...

Very comfortable place to stay with a decent restaurant and first rate breakfast. Relaxing bar with decent beers and nice gardens. My room was very quiet and reasonably comfortable. Bathroom dated but I think they are in the process of refurbishing them. If you book by telephone I recommend you reconfirm a week or two before arrival as our booking...

Such a pretty looking pub as we drove by so decided to call in for a meal later that day. How pleased we were as the food was excellent. The place wasn't overly busy at the time and the staff seemed very inexperienced and not sure how to check for table vacancies and we were kept waiting for some time....

Stayed in a superior room to enjoy the 4 poster experience! At £120 for bed and breakfast this was just about at value. The mattress was placed over fixed wooden slats with no spring in them. Consequently the mattress was suffering from guests and was in need of a change. The bed turned out to be far too small for...

Stayed here in a lovely superior room (3) at the end of March. Friendly staff, clean well-stocked room and en suite, comfy bed, excellent food (especially the liver and bacon) and convenient for Appledore and Clovelly. Bar and standard rooms are very dog friendly and there's a lovely garden and large grassy area behind the car park for the dogs....

This was an average experience for a birthday celebration. It was a quiet night in the bar. No table service but restaurant prices. Food was good but nothing special, and portions not particularly generous. One member of staff quite abrupt and not very forthcoming with information like steak sauces cost extra, until we returned to the bar to pay the...
