My wife held her birthday meal here and we had the private dining room and small terrace. Our small party (10 people) were treated to splendid service and a delicious meal. After the mains we walked around the gardens (loved the kitchen garden) and enjoyed the sunny terrace before having puds. A little disappointed with the bread pudding - too...

As service goes The Pig was very disappointing. When the service charge was £35 I could have employed my own waiter for the meal. The bar manager was pushy and rude. Food was average at best. Won't be rushing back.

Fabulous venue. Setting is just perfect. This was my first visit and definitely won't be my last. Can't believe it's took me this long to get there. Food was faultless. Plenty of choice. Staff attended to every need. Thought the drinks were a little over priced. We were there for a friends 50th and they had said they would bring...

We called up to try and change our booking to a later time at the pig on Easter Monday after having booked it a month in advance to be told we don't have a booking which was shocking to say the least. The maitradee then found it due to rather than the letter 'b' being 'v' which I found very...

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Outstanding food, lovely rustic decor, fantastic service, stunning grounds... If you are a foodie this is the place for you! The only disappointment was the bar was too busy and as a result we weren't able to have a pre dinner drink there. I will definitely be returning!!

Visited the Pig recently for lunch. We expected decent standard of food and service in anticipation of the experience promised on the Pig website: "Eating at THE PIG is truly a one-of-a-kind experience The kitchen is overseen by Chef James Golding and Head Chef Dan Gover.." Our experience, sadly, has been far from good: On recommendation of the waiter, I...

We visited the Pig restaurant at Huntstrete house. We had dinner in the evening. It was a Friday and we had to have an early sitting, 6.30. Which was a bit early. The ambiance of the place was very rustic, shabby chic, the staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a three course dinner and a bottle of house...

We stayed at The Pig for two nights and didn't want to hand back our key when we left! A wonderful hotel with friendly staff and excellent levels of customer service. Having stayed at The Pig in Combe last year (also a wonderful hotel), we were hoping for more of the same from this visit and were not disappointed. The...

I visited this hotel on business and I enjoyed my stay there. My room was comfortable, clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. I didn't eat there, but the buffet breakfast looking good as I passed through the dining room.

Fine dining, alright, but I'm glad I wasn't picking up the bill for lunch for four. This country house-style restaurant prides itself on local produce presented in an electic and unusual manner. And it was an interesting experience to say the least! Unfortunately, for me, there wasn't much on the menu that inspired me although i was impressed by the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pig is a bang up to date take on a new style of home grown, 26 bedroom country house hotel and what that needs to be today - original, relaxed and sitting comfortably within its environment. It's really a restaurant with rooms. This is a place that is all about the walled garden and everything is driven by the gardener/forager and chef - they grow and find the food - the chef then makes the menu. The style is home grown in every way - breaking the mold of designed hotels, daring to be comfortable in its own skin, working with what it has and recognising what is good about that. It won't be perfect, it will be warm, relaxed, comfy, interesting, and homely with muted colours, a bit shabby chic and evolved rather than interior designed. ... more   less
