Nice hotel in a good location on the riverbank.. Breakfast is excellent and food is generally very high quality. Staff and service are good. But it is a bit of a goldfish bowl! At £250 a night (high season) I would expect room windows to be mirrored or blacked out from outside viewers, so residents can enjoy the views without...

Afternoon cream tea with champagne. Lovely setting on the river. Cream tea had all the components i.e. homemade scones jam and cream, cake, wafer thin sandwiches (and I mean thin in the filling), pot of tea + glass of champagne. Beautifully presented as you would expect, with attentive staff but not value for money at £23 pp. Best thing, champagne.

We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary with a meal for 8 persons here. Staff handled the short notice with great attitude. Restaurant was full, yet we felt very much the main guests! Food was excellent as was service and price! A great evening out by the river in a new location for us! Thank you Captain's Club!

Well we've been here one night, two days so far and the staff can't do enough to make your stay more memorable and they go out of their way to make sure you get what you really want to make your stay fantastic. This really has been the best service we've had in the UK. We also hired the Nauti...

My husband and I went to The Captains Club for afternoon tea for our 1st wedding anniversary. I have to say the sandwiches and cakes were lovely. But as I don't drink tea I did feel that they felt put out when I asked for a glass of water. Of which I wasn't offered a refill when I had finished....
