We arrived very late (by arrangement). The hosts, Mike and Andrea, were very welcoming and it was lovely to have the warmth and glow of a real wood fire on a very chilly evening. The place was quite easy to find with the host’s directions. The peaceful rural setting, though just minutes from the airport, made for a really relaxing...

A real find. Exciting seeing a work in progress - loving the large rooms, great decor, lovely peaceful surroundings and warm welcome to us and the dog. Breakfast spread up there with the very best. So glad we found this. Thanks, folks.

My husband and I have just returned from a delightful weekend away having stayed at Heronshaw house. Having had a tiring Friday night drive we received the warmest of welcomes and felt totally relaxed in the lovely country cottage home of Andrea and Mike. Our room- first at the top of the stairs was beautifully presented and incredibly comfortable with...

Mike and Andrea, the owners, made my wife and I and our dog Floyd feel very welcome. Close to Bournemouth Airport but in a position where aircraft noise wouldn't be a problem, the house was very characterful, and comfortable. The room was clean, large and with an en suite wc and huge shower. A great place to stay if you...

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. The owners are amazing, so friendly and helpful. They definitely went above and beyond to make us feel at home with them. Our dog was also warmley welcomed which was just lovely. Our room was big and spacious and very clean. Plenty of hot water, and a great shower. The bed was comfortable too....

Booked for one night due to early flight out of Bournemouth. The hotel is conveniently located to the airport, only a couple of minutes drive, which is why I booked. The hotel is situated down a long narrow track, parking at the hotel is limited, and requires cars to be lined up in the order they need to leave in...

Booked to stay for one night on 1st August before flying on holiday from Bournemouth airport....cost us £85....never had an experience like this.....house bleak and garden and grounds overgrown and untended...Mike (owner) seemed very surprised to see us! Room only just ok....carpet stained and furniture in poor state, chipped and flaking paint, two seater sofa so old and worn that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer superior accommodation and great local food - ideal for a family celebration, a house party with friends, or just a pampered, relaxing weekend break. Heronshaw House at Hurn is a traditional 17th century stone-built farmhouse, with various brick modifications over the centuries, on the edges of the New Forest, in traditional farmland and therefore quiet, but surprisingly very close to all major transportation and Bournemouth Airport. Bournemouth centre is just 10 or 12 minutes away with its wonderful beaches and lovely town centre. ... more   less
