Grateful thanks to everyone at Bells Hotel. We held a surprise family birthday party here on Friday of last week and it was first class. The buffet food was excellent, with the whole cooked salmon being especially impressive, and the staff throughout the evening were attentive and helpful. The room had been beautifully laid out and the event was faultless....

I arrived on the first day of my stay and fancied some breakfast. The gentleman behind the bar told me the buffet was waiting for me in the next room. I get to the buffet and all the trays are empty bar the beans and the fried toast. I waited for 15minutes before they bring out any sausages, wait a...

Stayed for one night when visiting friends. Really lovely welcome from Maxine who was a real star throughout our stay. Nothing was to much trouble and all answered with a smile! Room was very clean but furniture was rather dated and duvet cover had hole in it. Bed springs could be felt through mattress too. Lovely hot water and fluffy...

I'd describe the Bells Hotel as being more of a Motel than Hotel. It's alright for a room to stay in overnight but as a location to spend a few days it leaves much to be desired. The rooms are alright but the Hotel itself doesn't seem to have anything else other than rooms. It is located next to the...

The hotel allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding and needed to be there before the usual 2pm check-in. Having booked online via a booking site, we were told that the room was a twin, as the site apparently gives twin rooms automatically. As they were full, the ladies at reception and housekeeping were so helpful...

What should have been an enjoyable overnight stay at this hotel (which is set in lovely surroundings just above Coleford) was somewhat tarnished by my experience. Having been assured at reception that Evening Meals were available and inspected the menu at 1730, I wandered into the restaurant at 1930 only to find a notice stating that no meals were served...

We went to the Mayors Civic Dinner which was hosted by the Bells Hotel. The organisation was excellent and the staff were superb. The event raised money for local charities and everyone had a great night. The food was delicious and even though there were a lot of tables and people no one waited long as the team were efficient...
