Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Truly awful. We got lost, as the directions and postcode were wrong. Arrived to be greeted by a cold grubby room, stinking of curry from the restaurant next door. To top it all the restaurant hadn’t renewed its alcohol license! Just don’t go there.

This was our second four night stay. As previous stay everything was spot on. Breakfast excellent. Rooms excellent. Hospitality excellent. Will be booking again for next November as soon as we've got our dates worked out. Oh yes...don't forget to pop next door to the Indian restaurant...first class.

Text received on day of arrival giving precise instructions on where to enter the accommodation and how to access our room. We were also told the location of breakfast room and that there was a copy of the breakfast menu in our room and that we send our choice by text for our breakfast. There was a good choice on menu and the chance to order any combination of breakfast items. Breakfast location was over the ground and first floor, in quaint surroundings in mill tower, with limited access to ground floor dining so if this important mention it at this time. Breakfast quality was very good and cooked freshly upon arrival. Room with big extremely comfortable bed, nice hot shower and well stocked tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries. Over all a very enjoyable stay representing very good value for money. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

If you need a place too stay in mid Norfolk you will not do better than the Yaxham Mill, the owners and staff are genuine and very helpful. The room ( 11 ) was just as required clean with soft bedding and was siuted me a disabled person. We will be staying again soon all the best from Mo and Colin.

We stayed for 4 nights. Original booking was for 3 but at last minute I asked if I could add another night on and the owner Paul was very helpful. Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was very good. Always asked if we needed anything for our room. We also had a meal in the Indian restaurant which is on site and it was the best I have ever had so would highly recommend. Some of the decor was a bit tired in places but for the price we paid I would say the room was good value especially as breakfast is included. We booked here to visit friends who are in Dereham so this was ideal place for us. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed in room 6. Shabby and poorly maintained. We arrived back in our room after a day out to find no heating on a very cold day. On calling the proprietor Paul we received no help - first reaction was 'well I turned it on'. He went on to say he could do nothing about it and that we should use the (2kw) oil filled portable heater to heat room and bathroom. We couldn't even make a warm drink as the coffee making supplies in the room had not been replenished 'because we didn't ask' !! After a night when we were still wearing our coats in the room at 11pm Paul did not turn up at breakfast to discuss or apologise - we were met at breakfast by a very pleasant employee, who knew nothing of what had gone on, but cooked us a very nice breakfast which is the only reason that our rating is as high as 2. Our recommendation is that you steer well clear of Yaxham Mill

We really enjoyed our stay. I have never slept so well in my entire life. Beds are comfy. Room clean, great service and a lovely breakfast in the actual mill. Fabulous. See you in August. The owner said he would put us in the same room which is nice.
