Great Fosters is a fantastic place to stay and explore the building and the extensive gardens. We stayed in The Cloisters which was accessed by a short walk across the courtyard. The room was beautifully decorated with a modern contemporary style but still with the original features. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the...

Really good hotel for local business trips, and it's that for which I personally use it (20+ visits). A little way out of Egham but it's worth the small drive/taxi versus staying at the ubiquitous Runnymede-on-Thames. Variable rooms - I don't mean variable quality, just very different - in the main building the rooms are as you would expect from...

We stayed in the cloisters, disabled room. The bed was small, the room was small. But London real estate prices dictate this. The suites and signature bed rooms are spectacular. The wedding breakfast was heavenly, breakfast was very good, especially the selection of fresh fruit. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bar manager had a minor sense of humour...

Great Fosters is a former 16th century hunting lodge converted and expanded into a country hotel, albeit one which is overlooked by the nearby M25. After a false start last October (there was misleading information in the RA Members' Magazine which may not have been in any way Great Fosters' fault) I visited today with the aim of visiting the...

Thank you for your review on your recent dinner in The Tudor Room. Whilst I was pleased to read that you enjoyed your evening I was sorry to learn that you felt hurried. I have to say that I have never heard this comment before. Our service is most certainly attentive as you would expect in a restaurant of this...

Great Fosters is lovely at any time of year but it just 'does' Christmas so well. The open fires, the candlelight, the wonderful food and drink. The thing I really love about this hotel is how you never feel rushed, you can just relax and enjoy being there. We were at he hotel over the Christmas period and were made...

Our Wedding was amazing at Great Fosters in 2015, only one year ago and we shall always hold this place very special in our hearts. Since then we have used the hotel for business meetings, afternoon tea and dinner engagements. We visited again for lunch on our wedding anniversary on Sunday the 3rd January. The service, great food and most...

My husband and myself stayed one night at this property prior to a flight, and as an alternative to the usual style of airport offerings. Some years ago we had lived in the Ascot area but were unfamiliar with this property. The setting, grounds and interior are beautiful. At the time of booking rooms in the main house were I...

What a fabulous venue! It was the perfect setting for a January wedding. Food and service were excellent - everyone was not only very attentive but happy too! Breakfast wasn't quite as slick as the Wedding Breakfast on the previous day (getting tea and coffee seemed to take a little longer than you would expect). Don't forget to order your...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Probably built as a Royal Hunting lodge and very much a stately home since the 16th century, Great Fosters is now a prestigious hotel, awarded 4 red stars by the AA. Set amongst 50 acres of gardens and parkland, the hotel is a Grade One listed building blessed with the grandeur of 16th century England and luxurious modern facilities. Its past is evident in the mullioned windows, tall chimneys, fireplaces and brick finials, while the Saxon moat, crossed by a Japanese bridge, surrounds three sides of the formal garden. All the suites and bedrooms are individually decorated. The bedrooms in the Main House are adorned with tapestries and antiques, whilst the bedrooms in The Cloisters are more contemporary in style. The refurbished Coach House offers luxurious accommodation with the latest plasma screens, i-pod docking stations and fabulous bathrooms. The hotel has two restaurants - The Estate Grill has been awarded two rosettes by the AA and serves a simple and seasonal menu with many of the dishes using produce grown on the estate and cooked on a Josper grill. The Tudor Room was awarded a Michelin star and three rosettes by the AA in October 2016 and is an intimate sophisticated restaurant open for lunch on a Thursday & Friday and for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday inclusive. ... more   less
