Nestled in a picturesque setting, Lough Erne Resort receives accolades for its impeccable cleanliness and modern rooms with breathtaking lake views. Guests have called out the amenities for being luxurious and well-maintained, though some have encountered hiccups with spa bookings and service consistency. The hotel's bar offers a lively yet relaxing atmosphere, but opinions vary on the value, with some reviewers warning of high prices. Despite these concerns, many find the serene location to be a highlight of their stay.

Stayed here on staycation and from the moment you arrive you are guaranteed a friendly greeting
The hotel is really fab and the staff are so attentive
I have to especially mention Sarah in reception who worked her magic and sorted out our dinner reservations as I had made an error.
I would have felt so sad not to experience the amazing Catalina Restaurant.
Athena in the restaurant also deserves a special mention for for bubbly cheerful disposition. She is an absolute star and so fast moving and nothing was a problem for her.
Chris Doherty the restaurant’s manager is extremely efficient and friendly and he was so helpful to me when I was looking for a lost earring and came out to me as I was checking out so thanks Chris!!!
The rooms are spacious and spotless and in Covid times we were made to feel safe with temperature checks, masks and social distancing.
The Faldo course was challenging and very well manicured for this time of year
Attention to detail was amazing.
We were lucky to eat in all 3 of the restaurants and you can see why Catalina has won awards for their amazing food.
I had a brilliant massage from Sakada and I have to say was one of the best I ever had at a hotel resort
The pool is on the small side but that would be the only minor negative we would have if the resort.
What a fantastic place
Keep up the good work and look forward to returning soon.......

Myself and wife have just returned from the resort and had the most fantastic stay. We booked a two night stay which included dinner in their main bar. This was my time at the resort or outing since lockdown and I have to say we felt very reassured within the resort. They had clearly invested heavily in covid protection with scanners on entry, sanitizer units throughout all public areas, easy to use signage etc. Our room was sealed when we arrived which we very much appreciated and the guest room itself was tastefully decorated in keeping with the old world charm of the resort and very comfortable. We loved the luxury Espa shampoos and washes which were available throughout the stay. One thing to note is that the resort do not service the room on the second day which we fully understand in order to offer maximum protection. The lady who delivered extra towels on our request explained this and it makes total sense. Apparently they deep clean all rooms and use fogging machines and special sprays that last for a month to help prevent covid.. The dinner included within our package was very enjoyable and the service was first class. It was also a great peace of mind to see that all the team had facial protection during our dinner and drinks. On the second evening we dined at a nearby Italian restaurant called Franco's which was very good and well worth a try if you are staying at the hotel. One thing to note though is that they were not wearing protection. We did not have spa treatments but did make use of the pool at the hotel which we had to book before our arrival. Like everything at the resort we had to pre book our breakfast times. The breakfast menu on offer was a selection of different themed breakfasts which were very tasteful and well presented. We both commented on how unique the offering was and given we were staying two nights it was nice to be able to choose a different themed breakfast each morning. Locally we booked to visit a National Trust site called Florence Court which we loved and would go back to. It's very much in the countryside like the resort and has stunning views and beautiful gardens. There was a small van serving teas /coffees and sandwiches which were excellent and it's also worth visiting if you are at Florence Court. Overall we loved our time at Lough Erne Resort and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. We travel often and found this one to be up there with the best five star hotels. The team really make this place and you can't fail to appreciate their commitment to the guest which is delivered in the most professional and friendly way. Given the world we are in, it was so nice to be looked after in luxury. We will definitely return and thank all the team for such a great stay!

Visited recently for a 2 night family break at mid-term. This was our second time staying here. Stayed in a 2 bed lodge situated out of the main building around 5 minutes walk or less to reception. When we arrived the lodge was very cold and took most of our first evening to heat up which was disappointing. However everything after this was excellent. The lodge itself was spacious with 2 bedrooms with king beds and a seperate living room which was great for relaxing together in the evening. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna/steam are great and very clean. I had a massage in the Thai Spa which was brilliant. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant and was so nice with everything you could possibly want. We did not have an evening meal in the restaurant but instead had a meal in the bar. The food in the bar was very good with decent choice and a good selection of wines by the glass. The service in the bar was very attentive and the 10% service charge was worth it. I had a look at the Catalina restaurant menu and it looked really good and would like to try it out next time. Overall we had a lovely break at Lough Erne and will definately return again soon.

Just returned from a weekend in this resort. The location and views were very picturesque and our Lough view lodge set us up for a long-awaited, relaxing stay.

Good points: the Thai Spa is soo good (very professional, friendly staff, both of us were very happy with our massages and the time spent afterwards in the pool/jacuzzi was very relaxing and enjoyable). The breakfast buffet we had both days was delicious and staff were friendly and efficient. The Valentine’s dinner we had in Catalina was top notch and one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in some time. It was slightly awkward giving His and Hers menus to a gay couple but I quickly realised the menus were different, providing a wider range of options, and so we joked with staff about it in good humour.

Bad points: the lake view lodge with balcony that I booked online was apparently already booked but I was contacted by phone well in advance and teething issues with the new online booking system explained. Unfortunately the lodge (#4 bedroom 1)we ended up staying in was very shabby. True, it was spacious, airy and had a beautiful view but there were large unsightly stains in the carpets and blinds, the wooded kitchen area was significantly worn with doors that didn’t close properly and there were rips in the bedroom wallpaper/pencil scribblings. A big disappointment was the lack of room service to the lodge. We had planned to spend the early evening in the spa after our long drive and then retire to the room to chill in front of some Netflix with food delivered. Also there is no Netflix and the TV in the bedroom is tiny.

All in all, the spa, location and dining were undoubtedly 5 star standard but the quality and amenities in the room were 3 star at best and really left us disappointed. I would recommend Lodge 4 is closed for refurbishment. For a 5 star resort I would expect all the little extra touches of comfort to be there as the client is paying a premium price. It’s a shame because we liked the resort but would probably try one of the other hotels in the area next time, or rent an Airbnb property on the lake and use the spa/restaurant in the resort as temporary guests.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights as a post-covid treat. First, I would like to say everything was sanitised to an excellent standard and observed other patrons using the hand sanitiser provided. Booking in was very easy and friendly. We had a lakeside room which was stunning. The food was simply amazing! We had dinner in the Blaney bar the first night and the second we had our meal in the LoughSide Grill; we were served by Aaron who is a credit to the hotel. He was friendly but not overbearing. Each evening we took coffee in the residents' area where a lady called Ruth spoke to us. What another wonderful employee! The grounds of the hotel are also a delight.I also had a spa treatment at the Thai spa and I believe Nang was my therapist. What a wonderful treatment and I would highly recommend the hot stone therapy, simply devine.
There were a few areas of disappointment. On the first night we were woken up by a group of drunk young men, with one in particular who at 5am felt the need to whinge about all his woes to the whole of the hotel. How this wasn't heard and dealt with by the Night Staff sooner is beyond me. Then, on the day of checkout, house keeping had knocked on the door at 10.30am to see if we had left. I felt this was inappropriate as checkout was at 12:00. I understand the room has to be sanitised and cleaned for the next patrons and if we needed to be out earlier a simple request from reception would have been good. As it was, I couldn't help but feel we were being rushed out of the hotel. Overall I love this hotel, its surroundings and we will definitely be back.

Stayed here recently with my wife for our wedding anniversary and it was a wow from start to finish, have passed by many times but was taken aback by how stunning the location is, On arrival was greeted by excellent concierge staff who explained the covid protocol system, temperature checking on entry and sanitizers at every public area, Sarah on check in was exceptional and talked us through every detail of the hotel. Was also greeted by Stephen Cox one of the managers who also gave us a great welcome and on leaving a heart warming send off, great assets to the hotel. Have to commend all the staff, courteous and helpful. On arriving early, check in wasn't till 4 so went to the spa where we were welcomed by Helen who was very helpful, and again explained everything about the spa and pool area. Pool, Jacuzzi everything enjoyable. Lovely furnishing throughout the hotel, Our room was 128 , a suite room and what a room , amazing décor and that view across the lake, dinner was first class and service to match, breakfast the same, everything is done with the guests safety in mind without loosing the wow and relaxation factor. Grounds are in impeccable condition, with plenty of walking/running tracks around the golf course and places to sit out and just chill.
Have to say this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in , sad to leave but cant wait to return when restrictions are all lifted.
Cant fault this hotel in any way, 5 star hotel, 5 star staff and a 5 star location.

Myself and my partner visited the Lough Erne resort under the “Sunday Slumber” deal, from start to finish we both can’t explain how fantastic our trip away was. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated like royalty, the doormen were so welcoming and happy to help with our bags and show us to our room, the checking in process was extremely stress free and quick. We checked in to our beautiful room that was overlooking the 18th hole and the views were breathtaking, the room was immaculate and extremely spacious. We both attended the spa were the staff were very accomodating there also. That evening we ate in the Loughside Bar and Grill where we were welcomed with a smile and shown to our table! The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious! Following our meal we headed to Blearlys bar where we finished the night with a few drinks yet again the service was great, the barmen always ensured our glass was kept topped up! The following morning we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast in the Carolina restaurant where we both were very impressed with the selection on the buffet and the breakfast menu!
Overall I have to say this is the best hotel myself and my partner have ever stayed in, every single member of staff was more than friendly and we really can’t wait to visit the Lough Erne again!

We're staying here during December, and it's our first time in this hotel. Which it must be said, is very impressive. I think that post-covid, this place will be excellent. The food is superb, the staff are generally friendly and helpful, the accommodation is top end. We knew there'd be restrictions during covid, and took that into account. But the hotel policies are all over the place, and they're not clearly advised at time of booking. We found two issues disappointing. Firstly, the rooms aren't serviced at all during your stay, and we weren't advised of this until we arrived back in the room this evening, and checked with housekeeping. So if you're here for a few days, you'll be cleaning your own toilet The hotel website says that staff won't enter your TEAM (sic) for the duration of your stay, which I must admit I missed when I scanned the covid policy before setting off... perhaps an upfront statement that your room won't be serviced during your stay would be more helpful? You can call housekeeping and they'll send up coffee, tea, cups, but you also need to remember to ask for a refresh of shower gel etc too. And you have to phone down for it. It may sound like I'm being too 'pernickety' about this, but I would expect a five star hotel to have thought through this in more detail. For instance, leaving a tray of the necessaries in each room each morning wouldn't be rocket science and would not increase risk to staff. Second point, the alcohol policy doesn't appear to be clearly understood by all staff. We found it difficult to work out what we could, and couldn't, do, and I had to speak to three different members of staff before I began to work it out. I know these are difficult times for everyone, but all it takes is a one page summary for each member of staff so they can apply a consistent approach. Which would mitigate the need for guests to shuffle round trying to work out what they can, and can't, do. Bottom line, it's a lovely place, and the food is terrific. If you're contemplating staying here in the next month, don't be put off, but do make sure you're aware of the experience you're going to have. A 5 star hotel should really have a 5 star Covid policy.

I enjoyed a very special Afternoon Tea on Sunday with family for my mum's birthday, her first as a granny, following a new addition to our family. I have been to Lough Erne Resort many times before for Afternoon Tea and our recent trip on Sunday did not disappoint. The Hotel is very easy to navigate around with signage from the front door and beyond indicating what is required to safely adhere to guidelines once in the building. We had our temperature checked upon arrival which made us feel safe, our table was located a safe distance from other guests and various hand sanitising stations located conveniently for use by patrons. A special mention to Nuala who was extremely attentive to ours needs throughout our visit. Following lock down restrictions in the previous months, an afternoon spent with family enjoying a beautifully presented afternoon tea , sipping tea in elegant fine china and clinking a glass of bubbles to celebrate was the perfect tonic - thank you all at Lough Erne Resort!

Stayed here on a 2 night break recently. Was supposed to only stay one night on a dinner B&B basis which was great value but due to lockdown in Donegal we decided to stay an extra night here instead. Whilst we didn’t get as good a rate for the extra night I’m glad we stayed as we got to enjoy the beautiful room with lake views, stunning grounds and pool and spa area. Dined in the Blarney bar the 1st night which was nice but I found the room a little cold and the bar was practically empty. Menu not extensive but our 2 dishes were gorgeous. Ate at the Loughside Grill the 2nd night and I much preferred this for both variety on menus and atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked but go down early or maybe a little later as we found the 9.30am slot to be very busy. It was explained to us that due to CoVid restrictions the room would not be made up but we could ask for anything we needed. Room was lovely with such a comfortable bed and gorgeous bathtub. Loved the hotel, the staff were attentive (however we were not offered any help with our bags neither on check in nor check out, despite a concierge being there) and there’s lots to do in the area.
