We had such a lovely stay, everything was flawless! Dawn in Reservations was so efficient, at check in Jade and Shane were so welcoming and helped us changed our dinner and breakfast reservations. The Lodge Suite was so cosy and comfortable, and the fact we had the added living and dining space was an extra bonus. Sarah left us some welcome goodies which we greatly appreciated. Our dinner in The Catalina was spectacular. It was a lovely ambience; staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed every morsel - a true dining experience! It was so refreshing to wake up to the lovely view. We enjoyed a morning swim before going for a leisurely breakfast. Aneta and all her team were so friendly and efficient, and the buffet had a great selection. Check out went smooth, and Neal at the front door was such a star. It was the perfect family getaway, we will definitely be back! …
First visit here and it certainly won’t be the last. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly, welcoming and always on hand to help out. Special mention to Alan, concierge for making us feel so welcome and helping us to our room. David on the Loughside bar for his attentiveness and friendliness We stayed in the presidential suite Worth every penny rooms were amazing. All the food we had was superb, and the spa facilities were great. Thanks for a lovely stay
Just home from a 1 night stay at Lough Erne Resort Went with another couple and had our evening meal at the Catalina Restaurant. Outstanding is the only way to describe the food and staff were amazing, Tom described every course in such detail, it added so much to the evening 6star
First visit to this absolutely beautiful hotel Arriving we were wowed by the massive driveway up and the beautiful land that the hotel and houses sits on Arrived into reception and the staff are first class. Friendly, helpful and genuinely care about guests. Went to our room and it was massive and had all we needed and few extras such as prosecco, luxury shower products and Lough Erne chocolates. The bed was massive and the best bed we've ever slept in, pillows are so comfortable also! Loads of hot water and first class cleaning! We had a kettle, mini fridge, loads of selections of teas, coffees and hot chocolates. The bathroom was huge and again extremely clean the only downside was we were put in a disabled friendly room and had no bath The spa is absolutely beautiful, we took a swim, sat in the hot tub and then went to the steam room loved it!! We booked with our family to stay again on the 5th of march for 2 nights for my husbands birthday and we can't wait to return! The food is absolutely beautiful and all fresh! Staff at bar, breakfast, reception, night porter, chef etc are all world class!! If you want a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting with fantastic staff in every area then this is the hotel of your dreams The dark haired young girl at the bar (can't remember her name) was super friendly and met all our needs at breakfast and at the bar. Cocktails are the best we've had. Massve thank you for an amazing stay and can't wait to come back on the 5th of march Much love Annie walker xo…
Terribly disappointed about our last visit to Lough Erne Resort. As a family who visit regularly we were totally stunned by the standard portrayed by staff at the resort. I completely understand that hospitality in general is constantly busy and with Christmas on board this doesn’t help however, for a 5 star resort you would hope to expect 5 star standard in regards to staff, food, presentation, cleanliness. I do think it is very unreasonable to charge a 10% service charge at times like these too when service is not up to that standard. We shall be back soon in the hope that standards have improved but the overall experience start to finish was honestly as one waitress quoted ‘a mess’
Disappointed by my last visit over Christmas. More staff required in the Blaney bar, the existing staff were trying their very best during a busy service but need more resource, training and better direction in order to offer a 5 star service. Focus seemed to be on diners in the Catalina rather than the bar area as it looked like there was more staff in there but at a 5 star resort every visitor should receive the same service. However I will note that I did dine in the Loughside bar & golf club the previous evening and it was a much better experience. Would stay again in the hopes the food & service will be better.
We stayed for one night in the nick faldo suite (presidential suite) overall good stay, grounds lovely and staff very friendly in general and helpful especially Jade and the door men. However, a few improvements required to tweek to 5 star levels to meet the standards we have experienced in other 5 star locations such as: Adare Manor, Europa, Trump international Doonbeg. Firstly the room although lovely needs some improvements for the price and to meet 5 star levels expected in a room of its category eg: curtain in living room near balcony door is all torn and couch had stains ! Although there was a Christmas tree it was very cheap and fake for a room of this standard it should be real or more expensive type tree. The mattresses of the four poster bed is old and needs replacing and the frame is also near collapse. No turn down service given! The hotel did provide mini bar complimentary and chocolates so thank you, it was much appreciated. Robes and towels tread bare and ravelling & need replacing. Secondly, we ate in the blarney bar which was far from 5 star service. We had to wait over 1 1/2hr for dinner which frankly wasn’t great, our main advertised colcannon potatoes ( received regular mash with 1/2 carrot), we understand the area was busy but it should not take this long for any meal. We had no alternative as we were informed the main restaurants were fully booked out. Service was poor query a lot of young staff in need of direction etc. noted when staff including manager were cleaning tables between guest it was a quick wipe of table with a cloth and no antibacterial spray used not good practice! Piles of dirty glasses gathered lining bar!! Having spoken with Jade post meal she quickly apologised for the experience ( we were not the only guest staying in the hotel to experience this) and at once offered a full refund, this was much appreciated and in my opinion excellent customer service. Finally, breakfast service needs improvements omelette was poor while table service was good. One would except more from 5 star. Overall food/kitchen needs much improvement in our opinion. Overall, location & grounds were excellent and the staff mentioned above were outstanding and in general this is worth a stay and we may return in the future. Also the site has 1 electric car charger which is free, so thank you this was much appreciated.…
Stayed between Christmas and new years with my wife, we checked in early (3pm) as wanted to use the spa facilities. Check in was very smooth and friendly carried out by Jade. Who said they would ring me when our room was ready. Though we didn’t get a spa treatment we used the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Pool is a bit small if busy but luckily it was quiet when we used it. Nice views out onto the Lough. When I returned to the lockers the hotel had rang me around 3.20pm to say room was ready but we had left the pool around 4pm so all was good. The room itself was nice, plenty of furniture and complimentary bottles of water, some of the furniture could have been dusted down better and the shower was scalding hot which couldn’t be adjusted. We mentioned during check out whom were very apologetic but it was okay with us just worried about the next person. We had a drink in the blaney bar before dinner which was a nice setting but service very slow for two drinks. We ate in the Catalina restaurant which was absolutely fantastic. The service was brilliant and the knowledge the staff had of each dish was second to none. We were served by Aimee who was very polite and really knew her stuff when it came to each of the dishes. We had the scallops to start, beef and duck for main and the plum and vegan cheesecake for dessert. All beautifully presented and delicious. The bread between courses was unreal especially the treacle. When we returned to our room after our meal, we instantly noticed someone had been in the room, which we released must of been maids as the room was tided, with more water, biscuits and chocolates on the pillows, I understand some people would like this but we felt a little bit violated and maybe should be asked during checkin if you want a turndown service, for us it didn’t feel right someone being in our room with our possessions. The following morning we made use of the pool again which was very quiet and peaceful. It’s handy to walk down the private staircase in your robes instead of walking through the main entrance, so that’s a nice touch. Breakfast was very good, plenty of selection and you can choose to have a buffet style or order at your table. After breakfast we took a walk around the grounds maybe help to add a few more signs for direction as we weren’t sure we were on the right path, especially when you don’t want to interrupt the golfers All in all we had a brilliant time and definitely would return in the future. Highly recommended!…
My hubby booked this as a wee Christmas treat. We had been once before in December 2016! On arrival the concierge(Adam) was polite and helpful showing us to our room and taking time to explain about the walk around the grounds.I was surprised to find we had been allocated the same room we had stayed in 2016...hubby didn't belive me. I recognised it because the cracks in the bathroom floor were still there as mentioned in my previous review. The room although a little tired was spotless and warm. The turn down was a nice wee surprise with lovely chocolates. The only niggle would be that the robes in the rooms are a little hard and threadbare . The spa was lovely and staff very helpful. We had booked the mud rasaul lovely treat skin felt amazing afterwards. Again it might be an idea to have disposable garments as an option as the mud stains your swimwear . We ate in the Catalina restaurant first night and the bar the second. Both meals were exceptional as was breakfast. All the staff we came in contact with were polite efficient and helpful. There was one staff member in particular who was working in the spa on the Sunday night the 11th...she was really helpful sorting me out with some cotton wool and hubby with a better fitting robe. She appeared in the dinning room that evening and came over to speak to us and on the following evening too.Such a lovely staff member with great personality sorry we did not catch her name. We had such a relaxing time we can't wait to return in February. We have booked the black Friday deal which is in a lodge. We asked if we could move into the hotel but the lovely girl on reception encouraged us to try the lodge for a change as they have lovely views and open fires. Looking forward to returning. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Make sure you walk around the grounds 5k in total breathtaking views and good path for walking.…
We returned for what is now our annual Christmas visit and we were not disappointed. As always a warm and friendly welcome from everyone. We had a fantastic room with a balcony which gave an amazing view over the lake and golf course which were beautiful in the frost and sun. We ate in the Blaney bar and can definitely recommend the chowder. The cocktails always go down well and it was lovely to catch up with Scott again. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice and freshly cooked. We have already booked for 2023 and can't wait to get back!
