Called for a coffee and snack and took a tale outside(one of which had been cleared or wiped from use after breakfast) and after sitting at one for a half hour went to the bar and placed our order giving our table number outside. Returned to the table and waited another half hour before approaching a very pleasant young lady clearing tables in the sun lounge and asked her if se could find out what happened to our orders he apologised and about 20 minutes later she brought our order to the table. Clearly a lack of direction on behalf of the management when tables are not cleared, wiped and sanitised after being vacated especially with our present covid restrictions. This is not a one off incident as we stayed there about 6 weeks ago and outside service was non existing. With such great weather surely the managers could asign staff for duties in these areas to keep the tables clear and serve the customers. Personally I think staff in that area would be well rewarded with decent tips.

Booked in for lunch on my birthday and was so disappointed by the food and general lacklustre attitude of the staff. I’ve eaten here a few times and it was regretful that I picked it as a birthday meal choice. I chose from the lite bites menu as there was nothing else but a carvery option or a burger on the menu; I ate a panini with roast beef and pepper sauce and to say it came plopped down in any old way on the plate was an understatement! The panini wasn’t even closed or half folded over, the roast beef was so dry and there was just a tablespoon of pepper sauce. It was placed on the plate with a “I couldn’t care less how this looks” attitude. It was served with a full plate of cheese and onion crisps…just horrible! How about a little salad? The dessert was even worse…I ordered carrot cake as that was the best of the bad options….it was so tasteless that on the second bite I declined to eat anymore! Where did you buy that because it certainly wasn’t made on the premises; the other people with me described their dessert as disgusting. I was also unimpressed with the table service, I know we are in an pandemic but a little friendliness would go a long way…maybe some staff training is needed. There is no way I would recommend this to anyone…disappointing and improvement on the menu options are needed!

Stayed here many times. This was a last minute booking as we were let down with place to stay. We only booked it at 9pm and for the night and was charged 175pds. the food from bar grill is awful. For the price of the hotel they would need to look into getting a proper chef. Never have a good meal on any visit to this hotel.

Surpassed our expectations! This hotel is of a very high standard ... Fantastic service, the Kove restaurant is amazing and all staff have been well trained in customer service. The views are hard to beat and the rooms feel luxurious and I think they maybe have been upgraded, the bathrooms seem newly fitted/tiled. We would usually head to galgorm but will definitely book the Killyhevlin moving forwards, much better value, peaceful and well run. Definitely checking out the cabins next time. Tip... Book the pool and restaurants well in advance of your trip to avoid disappointment.

Dear "teeteen1515" Thank you for staying with us at Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel and Lodges. Thank you for noticing the hard work that went on during "lockdown" when we totally replaced bathrooms and redecorated bedrooms not to mention building 6 new woodland lodges suitable for self-catering. A busy time behind the scenes! We are delighted you enjoyed your room, the views and the service provided by our staff in Kove restaurant. We look forward to welcoming you back again, kindest regards, Leigh Watson, HR Manager.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. I have ate here many times over the years for different occasions as never been disappointed, except during this visit. We stopped off for lunch on a weekday afternoon. Decent choice of food on the light bites menu. All food ordered was lovely. We took an outdoor table as it was a glorious day and the view across the water is very good. However the service outdoor was very poor. We were offered drinks on being shown to our table which we ordered. After requesting our drinks several times they eventually arrived an hour later after we ate all our food! The staff were friendly , I just do not understand why we had to ask for our drinks order four times! It was table service only so I couldn’t even go to the bar to place the order myself. They were no staff outside either so it was impossible to call on staff passing by except when they were serving food - then you were told the bar staff would be sent out, which didn’t happen until the fourth time we asked. The hotel needs to consider how to improve this which could simply be done by allocating a member of staff to the outside area and ensuring there is always someone in this area especially when you can’t go to get your own drinks. Will return but hope service and speed are sorted.

Dear "Nik6795" Thank you for calling with us at Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel and Lodges: we love to see regular visitors return. We are delighted with your compliments on the menu choices and on the food served to you, and we appreciate your comments on how friendly our staff are. We offer our sincere apologies for the lapse in outdoor table service and the delay in service on the occasion you last visited. Generally, a member of staff is allocated to primarily attend to those wishing to dine & drink outdoors but quite obviously on this occasion, this did not work out as we planned. Our manager will definitely follow up on your feedback with our staff to ensure our normal service standards are in place. Thank you for your continued visits and we hope to see you again soon, kindest regards, Leigh Watson, HR Manager.
