The worst experience I’ve ever had staying in a hotel was with this one. We were placed a a room which was dirty (yes dirty even during this pandemic) and we had to constantly ring about a large humming noise that not only could we hear in our room, would keep us awake but also vibrated the room We had to ring to reception twice on the first night to get this noise turned off for it only to return the next day after we returned from breakfast. The second night we had to ring again and it wasn’t turned off until after 2am for it to be turned on again and to wake us at 7am (less than 5 hours sleep we had). We were told it was the fan from the kitchen and that it had to be on for the chef to cook. This obviously is completely understandable, however do not place guests in a room above this which will keep them awake. When we went to use the shower, the bath was covered in hair, not only at the sink hole but up round the sides which meant it had to be cleaned. We rang to reception who said they would send someone to look at it. 20 minutes later we had to ring to say we had to clean it ourselves as we had dinner reservations and needed to use to shower to be ready on time. The porter then turned up saying ‘I hear you need your bathroom cleaned’ and was empty handed. I explained that we had to do it ourselves as we couldn’t wait any longer. He offered to go get disinfectant but said this would take a further 15 mins as it was located on the other side of the hotel. On our final day in the breakfast hall it took 25 minutes to take our order. Two tables who had come in after us not only had their order taken but also had their food before we got our order taken. On checkout we asked to speak to management to be told there was no manager available on site. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel, and not the ‘luxurious and tranquility’ experience I was expecting which is advertised on their website. I couldn’t wait to leave and get home to a peaceful nights sleep. Best thing I can recommend about this hotel is the drive back out of it. I’ve included a picture of my amazing view from the bedroom of the 4* luxury hotel.

We came to the Manor House for for our anniversary weekend. The hotel was lovely and clean. The room was spacious and again very clean. We couldn't get the window closed in the bed room but this didn't bother us as it was quite warm. We ate in the Cellar Door Bar. The food was basic but nice. There wasn't much of a vegetarian selection however. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I dont think we would rush back.

Called here for lunch this week on what was a nice day with sun shining. Went to hotel reception to ask about lunch told to go outside to the cellar restaurant. Seriously does someone want to sit underground in the cellar for lunch when there are stunning views from the hotel? When asked if there was anywhere to eat in the hotel we were told no. I think the Manor house hotel is really missing a trick here not utilising the views instead we left and went to the Killyhevlin where you can sit admiring the lake views while eating. By the way the Killyhevlin was really busy, come on Manor house you must realise the wasted opportunity.

Phoned to see if open for lunch at 12.15pm ...advised yes Called in at 12.20pm. to then be told not open until.1.00pm because of need to deep clean. Dead pan receptionist with glasses, 2 September, was so dismissive of our complaint about wrong telephone information. Now in killyhevlin hotel. Over 50 lunchtime diners..what a contrast. Are the manor house really interested in opening again?

We phoned the hotel before our stay to make sure they catered for vegans. We booked to have all our meals there. At check in the receptionist said “there’s a vegan menu”. Our first meal was “fine dining” in the restaurant with AA rosettes & a Michelin sticker on the door. There was nothing I could eat on the menu. The server checked & said “You can only have tomato soup & vegetable curry”. It was take it or leave it for my “fine dining” experience. The server agreed that she would bring margarine or olive oil with my bread. I was 3 bites in before I realised I was eating butter. I was distressed by this. At this point, things changed from being a relaxed dining experience to feeling stressed & on my guard. There was a further issue where I thought I was being given a parmesan crisp on the soup. I had just lost confidence. From here the servers stopped serving me and I was only served by the manager. I felt I was being treated like I’d done something terrible & I was upset about it for the whole weekend. No one seemed bothered or explained the food or apologised for feeding me animal products. We cancelled our further dinner reservation there. We stayed in 5 other hotels on this trip to Northern Ireland. Every other hotel & restaurant fed me beautiful vegan food. Our next hotel was at Killeavy Castle which is in a similar market segment/price point to the Manor House. I was treated like vegan royalty there. If Killeavy Castle can get it so right, why can’t the Manor House?
