My husband and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in Washington. What a lovely quaint place. The room was spotless with double aspect and views of the angel of the north. Plenty of complimentary refreshments, a very smart bathroom with good shower and huge white fluffy towels. I have to say that we had the best nights...

I haven't stayed at the hotel so cannot comment on the accommodation, but the meals are excellent. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from as well as some daily specials. There surely must be something for everyone on there. The service is quick and the food is plentiful. Would definitely recommend.

We have been coming here for many years and although the menu has not changed much, the choice is so varied that it does not seem to matter and there are always "specials". Last night I had the gammon steak (which I have had before) which was excellent; not salty and perfectly cooked. The portion size of meat was so...

We recently stayed at the Bowes Incline for two nights as we had to travel to the area for a funeral. Even though the stay wasn't under the happiest of circumstances it was very pleasant. The staff and chef were very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms were clean, well decorated and equipped, comfortable and the walk ins showers were...

Great staff, lovely food, real ale was superb, bathroom clean and modern, beds comfortable and free WiFi. Why the low score? Room was boiling hot on entry, Mold around windows, WiFi showing 1 bar and then disappeared randomly. The hotel needs modernising and freshening up. Ok if just the one night and has great potential. It's just tired, and needs...

Popped in with the missus after a spot of shopping. We decided for a quarter pounder and proper chips and a hot beef stottie and gravy and a side of onion rings. Washed down with a pint and a G&T. All was lovely and I was impressed. Evening menu was extensive and we will be back to try it out...

Decided to stay at The Bowes Incline with my partner again, simply because it is a comfortable and very pleasent hotel with a marvellous bar/restaurant. The food is renowned for it's high standards and the staff are very friendly, attentive and professional. It is pretty remote, so a car is needed unless you want to use a taxi, but we...

Stayed here for two nights. Room was nice, clean and spacious. Food in the hotel was excellent with a fantastic choice. Service very good. The only downside was finding it as our sat nag took us somewhere totally different. The postcode on website was wrong and even when we got the one off their own business card it took us...
