I have stayed at Thornleigh several times for retreats and themed weeks and have always been thoroughly impressed. The views across the bay are stunning, the staff are universally welcoming and helpful, the rooms are spotless, the beds really comfortable, and the food is absolutely wonderful. If you stay here you will want to return. Fantastic.

A lovely hotel open to non-residents. We regularly meet in a room overlooking the bay. Coffee and biscuits great at a very reasonable price. Staff are always obliging and friendly. There is parking available but at times it is not possible to park on site.

Thornleigh has the highest standards of comfort, catering and cleanliness, coupled with a blessed gift of welcome, caring and utter relaxation. People on their own need have no anxieties. You can simply use the hotel as your temporary home, or you can join in their programme of special interest events, which changes week by week. Walks, gardens, painting, writing, family...

I recently spent a few days at a conference in this hotel and would recommend it for the lovely ambience, the good housekeeping and excellent meals, nothing seemed to be too much trouble to the staff. They have some excellent themed breaks and the venue is very convenient for many popular tourist attractions with the added bonus of a lovely...

Our room was in the annex behind the main hotel, so no sea views, the room was basic but very clean and comfortable and very quiet. Staff were helpful. The breakfast was included in the room price (and served at table) and was plentiful and good. There was car parking at the hotel but some of the spaces were tight...

A comfortable and relaxing hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Standards of all staff showed a high regard and care for guests and in the maintenance of all hotel facilities. I spent the last two Christmas breaks here with plenty of relaxed fun and activities for those who wanted to join in. Hosted by a married couple who...

Well appointed. most welcoming, and with delightful service of excellent food. A lovely setting with views over Morecambe Bay and very close to the Lake District. Lots of good walks nearby. For the less mobile, the local shops are nearby and frequent buses pass by. A most enjoyable stay

Just spent another great week at this lovely hotel where nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff front of house or behind the scenes. Delicious food, comfy, homely rooms, friendly atmosphere. Everywhere spotlessly clean and smiles on everyone's faces every time we've been. Looking forward to our next break there hopefully very soon. Keep up all the...
