About

#2 of 4 Speciality lodging in Grantown-on-Spey
Quite magnificent find in Speyside! The accommodation was brilliant, clean and beautifully appointed. Three rooms with a lounge/diner and large kitchen satisfied the six of us beyond our expectations. Just like a small self contained house. Our hostess, Claire was impressive and we really felt that we mattered. Top marks all the way. Hi, I'm Claire Mackenzie, owner of Tulach Ard House in delightful Grantown On Spey. I look forward to meeting you.

Friendly and lovely place to stay. Easy access to lovely countryside and surroundings. Owners helpful with ideas and advice on where to go and what to do. Photography and wildlife needs lots of patients but to be seen is amazing.

A friendly, professional and comfortable b and b together with a kitchen and dining area so that there's no need to go the restaurant route in the evening. Perfect. Just what we needed after two and a half weeks "on the road" touring. It worked superbly for the 3 nights we were in Grantown. Never again are we going to be sniffy about supermarket "ready-for-the-oven" food. It was a life-saver ..... especially when accompanied by a supermarket "ready-to-be-drunk" beverage or two!! Just the place to go to bed with a big smile on your face, only to wake in the morning with another big smile at the smell of breakfast being prepared by Claire downstairs. Utopia.

Parking was a real issue, and in some ways we never really felt welcome. The host was aggressive and dismissive. My partner felt very uncomfortable and was constantly stared at. The weather was stunning and the garden looked lovely, however we weren’t allowed to use it, as if we had we almost certainly would have been shouted at by the host. Excessive road noise, meant for the whole time we around the premise we did not sleep. The people we met outside of the B &B were seemed lovely.

Thank you for your review. It is very sad to know you felt uncomfortable and unable to communicate with us. We - my husband and I are not known for aggression or being dismissive to our guests but as a norm overly attentive - promoting the area, foods and wonderful town here in Grantown on Spey which we love. Our garden is there to be enjoyed and again surprised to hear that you truly felt anyone would shout at you as our home and garden have been enjoyed by many over the years. We wish you well and hope your onward journey in our highlands was more enjoyable and restful... Our heartfelt wishes to you both. Claire & Doug @ Tulach Ard

We've only just left the Tulach Ard House (quite literally - we left this morning) and we miss this place already! We had the double room downstairs which was of immaculate condition. The bathroom with bath tub was very big and fantastic. The breakfast was great. But the best about this B&B are the hosts. Claire and Douglas were so friendly and helpful. Doug even gave my partner a lift to the hospital. Will definitely come back when we're in the area. Thank you so much! Sarah, James & Josephine xx

This place is absolutely perfect! We stayed two nights and loved it. Clair is the sweetest host and gives great advice on what to see and where to eat. The breakfast is so good and the haggis she serves is really nice! The rooms are clean and you feel right at home! We will absolutely go back again.
