Further to my previous review of the cafe Bar meal at the Grant Arms Hotel (our local), I write to recommend the formal restaurant. Its a grand, period hotel full of charm and interesting features staffed with happy, motivated people. We booked for dinner on a Tuesday night. This hotel is the epi-centre for wildlife and birdwatchers in the Cairngorms...

The Grant Arms Hotel is home to the Birdwatching and Wildlife Club which has guest speakers and events on. We went over the Valentines weekend. The wildlife guides are very knowledgeable and there is lots to do in the local area. The room we had was modern and spacious, the only problem was the house keeping. On two occasions our...

The Grant Arms hotel is a favourite place for a short break. The facilities are good with comfortable beds and good showers. Shampoo and body wash included. The food is tasty and well prepared and well presented. Local suppliers are the norm. The BWWC is a useful resource for wildlife lovers with information available as to what is around. There...

We have been staying at the Grant Arms for several years and have learned to book well ahead. We are drawn by the hotel's old-world charm and comfortable surrounds, the excellent in-house bird & wildlife club, good food, reliable wifi and the familiar comfort of our favourite room which we always try to secure. This was our first winter visit...

This was our second visit and my review would be very much the same as that written for September 2014. The food is good and varied but the after dinner coffee is not good - from a flask left in the bar. Surely this could be part of the table service? I was surprised that there is still no offer...

My wife and I wanted to visit the Cairngorms and Aviemore Area. We picked the hotel from TripAdvisor and booked two weeks before our stay. There were standard, superior and Four poster rooms available. The hotel has a rich Royal history. With our booking invoice, the hotel sent us an incredibly extensive information pack which detailed numerous activities available during...

Great food in the dining room and excellent service all round. Now look forward to returning. Grantown on Spey is also a great...

I love the Cairngorms and Moray Firth (wider Black Isle) with a passionate obsession with wildlife. The Grant Arms has positioned itself within this area of interest with great success. While the hotel doesn't cater only obsessives such as me, it does hold excellent resources and links guests for information (sighting) sharing and guiding and watching arrangements with other local...

Superb hotel. Check in was speedy. The room large and well decorated bed comfortable. Bathroom again large, with bath and overhead shower. The little extras in the room like the chocolate was a nice touch. The staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast a good range and tasty. Dinner fantastic with a great choice, really cooked so well. Free coffee and...
