The hotel is just a short walk away from the train station and the city main street is just a short walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was convenient. There was free wi-fi and its location makes it easy for someone who was not driving!

I had to extend my stay in Calderdale and Halifax town centre was a good choice, based on access to the railway network & excellent local shopping. The front of house/reception staff are "top notch", kudos to Josh, Ben, Aamir & Amanda for all their help, assistance and "friendly banter". The housekeeping/cleaning staff, (I never learnt their names, but a...

Reasonably quiet for a city-centre hotel, good value, pleasant and helpful staff. But something a little bit manky about the decor - 70's bathtroom, shabby paintwork, beer-impregnated brown staircarpet. And unbearably hot in the small hours. Perhaps there's a refurbishment underway somewhere. .

Warm friendly staff, good food and rooms clean and comfortable. Excellent location for town centre and railway station is just across the road. We were there for the beginning of the Comedy Week and the venues were fantastic. Plenty of bars and cafes. Some great architecture especially the market. Highly recommended.

This is a really well located hotel, close to the centre of an interesting and attractive town and right opposite the railway station. It has old fashioned character and a welcoming feel. The staff were very friendly, particularly the waiter for our evening meal, and the food excellent. It has its own parking area across the road. The only downside...

Booked via a booking site, who messed up and didn't book a child in with us. This was not a problem for the hotel staff and a family room was quickly sorted for us at a small extra charge. The room was not perfect with one or two issues, wonky bed, dirt on valences. We managed with the bed situation...
