I've stayed with Sue and Barry twice now and have felt very welcome and cosy. They have thought of everything, nothing was too much trouble and it was very comfortable and homely. I have stayed in both the single and double rooms, the beds are extremely comfortable which is important as I have a bad back. Breakfast is amazing... thank...

Had a 2 night walking weekend with friends at this B & B. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Judy, our rooms were very comfortable and clean, the evening meal (which they do once a month) was superb the lemon meringue was divine. The breakfast the following morning was excellent with fresh fruit and yoghurt and several...

A little off the beaten track, it would be easy to imagine you were in the heart of the country, instead of a few steps from the main road. My room was comfortable with all of the facilities you would expect from a decent B&B. But what made my stay so special was the hospitality and thoughtfulness of the owners....

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner of the Guest House, who showed us our room despite being very busy in the Tea Room. The Room was very clean and nicely decorated. It has a lovely view over the hills. Food was excellent and she makes a very nice Bakewell Tart of which we had to have more...

I stayed at Woodlands on a work project for three months across the winter of 2016, in the downstairs single room with ensuite. Barry and Sue are very friendly hosts and couldn't be more helpful in making your stay a pleasant one. They are a great source of information on local walks - of which there are many good ones...

Having travelled up and down the U.K for business in recent years, I have to say that nothing quite comes close to my short stay at the Woodlands Guest House. This incredible hidden gem situated in magnificent landscaped gardens off the main road was full of character, charm and all the allure of a typical English Victorian dwelling. Upon arrival...

Thank you Shaun for this very positive review. Barry and I work hard to make our guests welcome and comfortable, treating each one as we want to be treated when we stay in a guest house. What we offer are those personal and unique things that hotel chains cannot offer. We always enjoy sharing our much-loved period house with our...

I stayed at the Woodlands for one night as I was attending a sporting event in Manchester. My room was stunning, with fantastic views of the lovely countryside that surround the Woodlands. There is ample parking outside the guest house, and my breakfast was lovely with the choice of cereals and fruit juice. What impressed me about this guest house...

A warm welcome awaits you from Sue and Barry. Slept comfortably in best bed(firm) when I've been away from home. Lovely quiet room in a very peaceful and very quiet location. I am partialy disabled and unable to climb stairs. Even though it's not a disabled room it more than fitted my requirements. Front door 3 paces away and the...

It is the family home of the owners and has been lovingly renovated, furnished with care and fully modernised so central heating, good hot showers, Freeview and Wi-Fi make your stay comfortable.
