Nice, well presented room in a small hotel/ B&B that is just 10 minutes off the motorway. I would recommend you make the effort to find this place, it is well worth it. Mark is a great host, the food in the restaurant is beautifully prepared by his wife Morag. I would stay here again on my way up to...

We stayed one night on our way to a wedding in Scotland. Our room was clean, pleasantly decorated (modern and retro, if that makes sense) with a well-equipped ensuite shower room. The bed was extremely comfortable. Once you have your key you can accesss your room independenty (ie without going through the bar) and there is also off-road parking. We had...

Many thanks for staying with us en-route to your wedding - we're so glad you enjoyed yourselves here in Hightae and hope to see you again. As you may know, drink driving limits have been lowered north of the border for the last two years and as most of our evening supper guests have to drive to Hightae we think...

Nice clean room and ensuite, really comfy bed and in a nice rural area so really quiet nights sleep. Absolutely no phone signal and the TV struggled to pick up a consistant signal, but there was free wi fi! Host explained that it was slow, but it was quick enoufg to stream netflix whilst sending emails. Host was very welcoming...

Many thanks for staying with us whilst away on business Peter - it was good meeting you. You're right re mobile phone coverage - signals are erratic at best. Not at all a bad thing if you need some peace and quiet. We hope to see you again. M&M, The Hightae Inn.

We stayed for one night B& B and also had dinner. Excellent locally sourced food, good selection of local beers. The Inn was tastefully decorated throughout, clean & warm. Mark was a very personable host. Would not hesitate to book again

My husband and I stayed at the Hightae Inn for one night on our way to northern Scotland. Our visit was too short to really appreciate the comfort and hospitality at this wonderful B and B. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with luxurious bed linen. A quiet night's sleep was easy as the Inn has rooms away from...

A lovely place to stay a bit off the beaten track. We were on our way to the Isle of Skye from our home in the Cotswolds and chose Lockerbie as it is more or less half way for an overnight stop. We had a nicely furnished comfortable room. The delicious dinner and breakfast were both freshly cooked to order...

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us here in Hightae. We've got some wonderful local produce - really chuffed you appreciated it. Apols for the tea & coffee related bedroom trauma - slight mix-up with kettle distribution. All sorted. Hope to see you again. M&M, The Hightae Inn

This is our second stay at this fantastic place, and hopefully there will be many more to come. Mark and Morag are wonderful, friendly, welcoming hosts. The food is fresh, local and delicious. The gin list is extensive and imaginative. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is peaceful and rural yet only a stone's throw...

Great to see you both again and many thanks for your kind words. It's great that you like what we do here. Enormous additional thanks for tolerating the general unpleasantness of our Welsh Terrier - he's not big and he's certainly not clever. Hope to see you again. Warmest regards, M&M, The Hightae Inn.

A last minute booking turned out to be the best decision we'd made in a long time. It's run by two of the nicest people you could hope to meet who worked unceasingly to make sure we were completely satisfied. The room was spotless and tasteful, the bathroom immaculate. We haven't been here for a few years and there's been little change but then how do you improve somewhere so great ! “On a practical note, it was impossible to fill the kettle under the tap in the bathroom basin. Also, fresh milk in the room was provided on arrival, but not available for the early morning cuppa as the owners were not around to request it; uht milk would have been acceptable, but not supplied.”
