We booked a front facing room for two night on a dinner, bed & breakfast rate which included a 3 course evening meal each evening. On arrival we were told we could do the paperwork and return at 3pm for our room key which was fine. Just before 3pm we went to join the queue for the keys. A couple were checking in at 2.57pm and were told to return in 3 minutes for their keys! A very strange process that resulted in queues for the very small lifts as everyone scrambled to get to their rooms. The hotel itself is extremely dated, various bits of maintenance going on. Carpets extremely worn and lots of peeling paint and shabby looking areas. Our room was very basic but clean. The star of the show however was the food. Not a massive menu but it was all cooked fresh and extremely good quality. The restaurant looks like it’s been refurbished and slightly out of place in this old hotel but definitely shows just how much potential if renovations are continued in other areas. Our waitress Eloise was young but extremely helpful and polite, a real asset to the team. Overall we enjoyed our stay, we just felt it is ready for a major refurbishment.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as part of my Grandma's birthday celebrations, as a party of 7. Rooms were clean and spacious, all had private outside space, food was delicious - breakfast and tea (dinner), all hotel employees were super friendly and attentive. They sang Happy Birthday to my Grandma after dinner, with a candle in a piece of cake (not requested by us, they just did it) it made her day even more special. They also organised flowers and balloons for us for our arrival. Would definitely recommend going here, had a brilliant couple of days and will definitely be going back again!!

As kids we used to visit the Dalmeny every year without fail and have nothing but fantastic memories. I returned this year with my young family and its exactly the same as what I remembered minus Uncle Bob and the buttery bar! Admittedly i agree with some of the other reviews about the hotel looking a bit tired and found a few small things in the room where i thought ‘why wouldn’t you just spend five minutes fixing this? Or this could have been a bit cleaner’ But the kids loved the entertainment/running riot in the ballroom, playing in the pool and we all loved the delicious food served at breakfast and dinner. I think the place is great, the staff are friendly and would honestly come every year. It was very expensive this time round (as is everywhere) but we’ll blame that on Covid. Thanks for a brilliant weekend.

Wonderful weekend at The Dalmeny. Staff all friendly & welcoming. All public areas clean & inviting. We especially enjoyed the clean & beautifully lit swimming pool & jacuzzi. The weekend evening entertainment is fantastic for children. Special mention to Dan for his fun games & welcoming smiles! The food was beautifully cooked & presented. Thankyou to all at The Dalmeny.
