I am in love with Hill House, I cannot fault the place, every nook, cranny and fake spider!! It has character, charm and perfect hosts. I smile walking up to the door and drift into a world of my choosing. I am blinkered and I don't care. If your mind is creative, your imagination wild and being in a box...

Duncan and Alex at the Hill House welcome you with an easygoing, warm-hearted hospitality unlike any other b&b I've visited - you'll feel at home before you've even got to your (fabulous) room. When we arrived, Duncan was in the splendidly sprawling gardens picking nettles for homemade soup (it was completely delicious), accompanied by George and Boo, the two friendly...

Absolute amazing place, stopped in the dryad room and cabin room and the beds were so comfy, and coffee and tea in the bedroom was nice. The bathroom was immaculate. Breakfast and tea was so nice and we never went hungry! Duncan was a marvellous host who allowed access to anything you wanted. The hot tub was also amazing and...

Where even to begin? I was recommended The Hill House by a friend who had been twice and was planing his third visit, so the acclaim seemed genuine. I knew to expect a quirky house, with interesting and exciting features, great food and friendly hosts. The reality went way beyond what we could have imagined! Greeted by beautiful, bounding bull...

Wow, what a treasure of a place, quite simply the best B&B I've ever stayed in! Fantastic friendly hosts and massive cuddly dogs welcomed us, just perfectly attentive at the right times, and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the hot tub, watching the sun set as storm clouds gathered across the distant mountains, then relaxed by the fire...

Our second visit, and it was like we'd never been gone. We stayed in the White Lady room this time, and it's now a suite. We had a new comfy bed with electric blankets in the dragon's den, a lounge with great views across the Wye valley, and a bathroom with a square Japanese tub. We had dinner at Hill...

Just spent a Winter Weekend at Hill House and loved every minute - fabulous, mysterious, quirky, atmospheric, individual and the breakfasts ... gargantuan and delicious .. and we had dinner on the first night and that too was truly memorable! I will definitely go again and take my husband the next time :-)

Although our stay was a few years ago my partner and I still fondly reminisce on our stay there. And are planing the next. Duncan and Alex are the most gracious and fun hosts. If you like Premier inns and Burger chains stay well away this is not the place for you.

We got married on Halloween this year and chose The Hill House for our honeymoon, we could not have made a better choice! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home by Duncan, Alex and the 2 gorgeous dogs - George and Boo. The place is wonderfully quirky, packed with books, curios and artwork,...
