Great stay in a lovely location and hotel to match. Staff were attentive, room was clean and food was excellent. I have stayed at the Paddocks hotel a few times now and each has been as good as the last. Will definitely return to this hotel whenever I come to Symonds yat.
The perfect hotel for our small group's weekend away. The rooms and public areas were smart, clean and comfy. Fabulous freshly cooked breakfasts and enjoyable plentiful evening meals (eg soup, lasagne, sticky toffee pudding etc). Friendly staff. We all had a great time and will return.
My wife and I stayed at the Paddocks on the first night of our honeymoon 59 years ago. I thought that it would be nice if we stayed there for our diamond anniversary next year so why not check it out this year to be safe. I needn't have bothered ...the staff are so nice and the room was excellent. Yes the menu is a bit limited but the food is of excellent quality - both European and Asian. Its clear that some of the building has been renovated and there is sill more to do by the present owners, but clearly this is work in progress. . Thank you all for the "Royal" treatment.
I have stayed at this hotel and had an enjoyable stay in a great location. I have since made another booking but had to cancel due to family illness. The hotel staff were very helpful and responsive in accommodating my request to cancel my booking. I do plan to book again soon.
Just back from 5.days Alfa Coach Tours Staying at The Paddocks. Owner Marina was very good. Staff Member Maddi was so so pleasant, along with others. Location is very good, quiet & great stress buster. Close to River Wye.
As usual a wonderful stay at the Paddocks in the scenic surroundings of the Wye Valley a place we come back to every year now since first visiting some years back. This time we stopped for two nights and were made welcome from the start by Marina and her staff. We stayed in one of the garden view rooms which was comfortable and clean and a great view of the gardens & valley. The breakfast soon disappeared in the morning and it goes without saying the Pan Asian menu was our 1st choice! 😋. You can either head downstream or up for some riverside pubs and walks depending on how far you want to go and the rope ferry’s that will take you to the other side. Hoping to return this year as every time we leave it seems too short and we want to return. Many thanks again Marina we will see you again soon! 😁👍…
Patrick was bery welcoming and friendly. Dinner was very good with reasonably priced drinks. Room was clean with plenty of hot water. Free parking pass provided as the car park is pay & display. Large choice of breakfast’s availble and left full and happy. Thank you 👍
The location of the hotel was wonderful, near to the river and with a lovely garden. We were celebrating a birthday with 19 of our family and we all enjoyed our stay at the Paddocks Hotel immensely. The Manager Michelle, and owner Marina looked after us so well and the whole weekend was a happy family occasion. Thank you everyone at the Paddocks! We hope to return again soon.
We stayed here after canoeing for the day, last minute booking (at 4pm) and the lady at reception was really nice as previously, (last year), but the room was much better than last time. The decor looks updated now, and although not 'luxury' it was a nice room, and very comfy bed, and slept all night through. Although hot weather, the room was cool. I would definitely stay again. Short walk to the gorgeous pub by the river too.
Location excellent, lots of parking, staff friendly though some had VERY limited English, big room, bed very comfortable. Hotel a bit rundown, with money spent on some areas and not on others. Every window seems to look out on a flat roof in varying states of repair. Drive down to hotel "interesting", plus the Pay to park signs off putting, though can get free permit from reception, could do with making more welcoming. Hotel seemed a confusing mix of British/Asian, e.g. pictures of Junks, Sumo wrestlers in dining room (more like a canteen), Chinese restaurant style roof lights. Menu a "poor" mix of English dishes and "Chinese/Asian style takeaway food" Expensive considering the quality and presentation, the "Japanense Curry" for example smelt, tasted and looked like chicken & veg in "chip shop curry sauce", poorly presented and certainly not cheap. Decide what you want to be and work toward that, you appear to have got lost. Breakfast tasty, though choice limited, sausages poor quality. Beautiful situation why not highlight this? Images of the views, things to do in area. Round the back river walk, however gate access plastered with "Keep out", "No trespassing" "CCTV" warning signs, is this private or for hotel guests? River ferry 200 yds away no mention off/directions to, similarly the Butterfly farm? Also a couple of pubs within 400yds again no mention off them (perhaps this more understandble as the food is better and cheaper).…
