Stayed three nights with my wife and our dog. The Owners were tremendous as were all the staff. They spoilt our dog, the food was fantastic and even when we got soaked walking on Dartmoor they were happy for us to dry our things in their boiler room. The fire in the evening was beautiful and helped dry our boots. The...

We stayed here ten years ago and loved it so much we knew we'd go back again one day. The beds were (and still are) THE most comfortable ever. We returned to stay in May 2017 with friends for a special occasion (my 60th Birthday) and sadly we were very disappointed. It started when we arrived at lunchtime on the...

The welcome was surprisingly laid back until you settle in and realise that everything is beautifully laid back here. They don't just take dogs, they welcome them. They don't just serve great good. They source and cook great ingredients. They would be offended if you called it gastrofood...it's miles better than that. The pub was lovely and warm with open...

The Elephant's Nest is set in a beautiful quiet part of the moor. The inn is quaint and comfortable. Our room was lovely and spacious with massive comfy bed. There is a fine selection of food, what we ate was delicious. We had friendly and attentive service. A very pleasant couple of nights were spent at the Elephant's Nest.

This is a fabulous place if you can find it tucked away in rural Devon. The pub is very well looked after. It's clean and welcoming with floral arrangements on all the tables and a warm fire when necessary. The staff are extremely welcoming and professional and the food was really nice with good vegetarian options. We visited on Easter...

A nice old pub hotel with a good atmosphere. We got a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Our room was a good size with a nice extra large double bed. A modern bathroom with good bath and shower. We had a very nice dinner with a good choice on the menu. An excellent full english breakfast.

Recommended by a friend, so called in whilst in the area and not disappointed. Staff were lovely, attentive and service was fast. Lovely atmosphere, log fire and beautiful arrangement of fresh daffodils on each table, perhaps the best flowers I have seen in a restaurant. Then comes the food, good menu, excellent portions and wonderful flavours. Will return when next...

Many thanks for the review and we look forward to seeing you again. We have a splendid garden if you get chance to visit in the summer.

The food is tremendous. Dinner and breakfast were outstandingly good - best Eggs Benedict in years. Comfortable and homely garden room. Pleasing range of real ale and a nifty selection of malts. The French house Sauvignon Blanc is certainly as good as it's built up to be. Worth a slight detour definitely. Only spent a night but would make a...

Just what we needed. Log fires, historic old inn and perfect accommodation for us and two dogs in Room 1 with easy access to secure garden. The menu was very varied and our hosts gladly met our dietary requirements with no fuss. Breakfast must rate as the best ever and set us up for the day.. It`s not a `smart'...
